It's just over 10 years since I bought my set up (naim 112/150 pre/power, Rotel RCD 01, EPOS bookshelf speakers), and I recently added a Rega RP1 and matching phono stage.

The one thing that I love most about the kit is I would be shocked if anything was to breakdown in the next 10 years, which is refreshing as things more than a couple of years old these days seam obsolete.

I am sure my kit is a mere pup compared to some?

Pioneer A400 amp that I bought new in the early 90's. My speakers are Nakamichi, as is my spare amp, along with a pair of Mission 760i bookshelf speakers. Also have a 25 year old Nad turntable, but since the CD player died, I just use my Mac and iTunes library. I much prefer the old stuff though. Same as with my car. (I also have early 90's Nakamichi in there)

My Panasonic system is also getting on for 10 years. Nothing exciting, just an all in one setup for DVD, CD and radio.

My main system which is various Naim components from 1995 to 1999 vintage is attached to B&W 705's from 2007.

2nd system is again Naim bits attached to Linn Kan II's with Kan stands. All from 1995 to 1999.

3rd System is Naim Integrated amp from 1998 attached to some Castle Satellites from around 2003. Source is an iPod Touch from 2005.

All sound great having given service for many years.

I'm guessing Naim introduced servicing their various electronic components after 10 years in order to increase income because their stuff is so well built is never breaks down. Would I be able to tell the difference if everything was serviced. Who knows but with 11 different boxes it'll probably cost me the thick end of £3k to find out yikes

I have a Rega Planar 3 turntable, Rega Planet Mk1 CD player, Rega Ela Mk1 speakers and an Inca Tech Oberon amp. I've not a clue exactly how old they see, but I reckon that they must be at least 20 years old.
I would say that they are all bulletproof but my son has over driven one of the Elas, resulting in a buzz in the driver. It's causing some misery trying to source the replacement Royd driver.

I have an Arcam Alpha 9 amp, and an Alpha 7 CD player, with some B&W DM602S2 speakers - all bought c.1998 on leaving university as a present to myself!
Woefully underused now, as almost all music and video goes through the more recent Sony Home Cinema receiver that sits underneath it....

Linn Sondek from late 80's - been serviced and upgraded along the way so is fairly current.

Naim amplifiers from early 2000's. Had a 250 which I got serviced and it came back outstandingly good - although the 102 / 250 combination was replaced with a 52/135 combinations.. The 102/250 is currently in the loft until I decide what to do with it (Any interest ? smile )

I too have a Pioneer A400 - which is used once a year when we've got the TV outside for Le Mans.

The answer is yes. Capacitors in particular go off, and during a service they will be replaced.

You don't need to go back to Naim. Any repair engineer could do the work, but I'd choose one who knows the brand. Witch Hat spring to mind.

I could be looking for a 250 shortly. I've got a load of good stuff here I simply must think about selling in the new year too. If there was anything you fancied in some sort of p/x it'd be cool. It may be worth a chat in the New Year.

Cyrus One amp and Celestion 3 speakers here, getting on for 25 years old. The AR EB101 turntable I had with them is long gone, I wish I still had it now.

I haven't had a separate Hifi system for years!

All TV and radio goes through a Yamaha AV amp and Kef speakers, but the vast majority of my music listening these days is through Spotify on my Galaxy S3 plugged into either the above amp, through Bluetooth in the car or via headphones.

I bought mine around 15 years ago.

NAD amp, Marantz cd player, Denon tuner and Mission speakers.

It's been great, I bought it from Richer Sounds as a package deal (I added the tuner at a leter date).

I meant to add that I bought the majority of my hifi used, when nobody wanted stuff that didn't have flashing LED's or whatever. I've always loved the look of old separates and always wanted a Transcriptor Saturn.

I don't have one these days as I am now deaf. My old Panasonic amp, cd deck (both bought in early '90s) and speakers (Wilmslow Audio kit based on BBC LS3/5a built late '80s) emigrated to New Zealand with my son and are still in use.

The Audio Innovations 500, Meridian 200 Transport and Systemdek/RB250/K9 go back to 1992 when my original kit was stolen. They replaced another 500, an Arcam 90 Transport and a Linn Axis/Akito/K9. The rest I obtained Between 2004 and 2010.

Main system is at various ages!

Oldest bit is a Meridian 557 power amp, about 1998? vintage from memory, might be a bit younger

Driven from Meridian 508 CD and 502 pre, both from 2003

Speakers are Martin Logans, purchased in 2004.

All good, reliable and still sounds great. No plans on changing any of it.

Naim nac92/nap90 and cd 3.5. B&W cdm2 speakers. Great little system for a small room. All Bought 2nd hand in 1997. Been gathering dust for the last 10 years. Probably should sell it but no idea what it's all worth....

Sad that now everything is on the iPod I just don't see myself using it.

Paul.
