Sony KDL-50W829 - Now down to £599 at most retailers.

Some stellar reviews when it was a 1k set, at that price it's a steal!!
If anyone is interested I went for this although the silver framed W815 version, ummed and ahhed for weeks but ultimately it and the Samsung are both great sets but the silver aluminium frame gave it a quality look rather than the black rather plasticky looking frame of most sets.

Picture is great, sound so-so but didn't care as I have a Sonos sound bar woofer and rears. Huge manual ended up being only the wall mount instructions in a 100 languages! No manual it's all on the TV menus (new to me)

Baffling array of features that I haven't explored yet

Anyway cheers for the tips
