OK, so its two L shape settees... one left, one right. I've split them so that they can be rearranged as shown. They all usually split for delivery etc.... I just rearranged them and rejoined them. Perfect for our room.

Tell me which member of the household dyes their hair black?

Back on topic, just a 40" TV for me, had it about 8 years now i suppose - still looks fab when streaming HD movies from the NAS through the PS3, so no need to upgrade to a "smart" TV yet.
That's not hair dye... its the natural oil found in your hair... (not 'grease', oil I tell you!) that type of leather is susceptible to it.... as there is no sealant on the leather (and its not painted).

32" Panasonic that's coming onto 6 years now. Guests usually comment on the small TV but shut up when I point to the 80" projector screen just behind it!

32". Soon to be dwarfed by enormous aquarium. So, I need a bigger TV, for proportion reasons. That, and I made a really big TV stand!

Is a big telly a modern day status symbol?

It's the opposite. I can understand watching TV on a bigger screen is better, and those 4k huge screens are mesmerising, however i think bigger TVs are now more associated with benefit scum than actual wealth!!

Maybe the status is reflected better by the number of TVs in a house then?

I must be of very low status, as I have never felt the urge to watch TV in the bath or shower wink

i don't think it's that either. It's not just the accessibility of the TV to everyone nowadays, but also that today's TV is nearly all just aimed at thickos.

We have a 70" Samsung in the lounge, and a tiny 50" Samsung in the guest bedroom.
(Despite not watching a lot of TV, I wished we'd got the 75" or bigger thou as the 70" has definitely shrunk over time).

37" Panasonic Plasma, those with Victorian semis / terraces with normal layout will know that this size fits just about perfectly in the slots either side of the fireplace in the front room smile

I've got my 50" living room TV mounted quite low down, so it looks quite unobtrusive, so much so that I've been asked if it is 40". I can raise it up as it is on an electric lift, but I mainly do that to get it out of view when I lower my projector screen (effectively 128" diagonal).

Otherwise we have a 32" in the kitchen, 39" in the conservatory, 32" in one guest bedroom and a 22" one in the other guest bedroom. We don't have one in our bedroom but the only time my OH watches TV in bed is when I'm away so she just uses her laptop to watch iPlayer. We couldn't find a suitable spot to put a TV without spoiling the looks of the room, or putting it in a stupid position that made it an odd angle to view, so we decided that we have enough TVs already...

The only things I tend to actually watch are F1 and Top Gear (haha), otherwise it's just films which I watch on the projector anyway.

I said before the biggest thing we have in the house is a 21" but I would love a huge screen.
The only thing that's holding me back (apart from money) is what would I watch?

The programs are crap at the moment, top gear is likely no more, Sherlock was good for 6 episodes, I could splash out and see an extra 20" of the British bake off, but my hears not in it.

Serious question am I missing something really good?

I only tend to watch movies and the big TV series on my big screen. Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad that sort of thing.

Oh and Peppa Pig. A 6ft mummy pig is terrifying.

Wide screen?

Films are good. A bigger screen immerses the viewer more. But it's all preferance.

The older I get the less TV I watch. We have Radio 4 on most of the time, I watch Channel 4 news, Eastenders, Newsnight fairly regularly and that's about it. I used to enjoy TG too.

Binned Sky recently as I realised the only we watched was repeats of Seinfeld
