Decent HDMI splitter
Discussion
How far is the second TV from the Sky box? If 15m+ cable distance then consider using HDBaseT to connect the TV. CYP have a very neat system that extends HDMI to a second TV, has pass through to keep the source available to the local TV and includes IR relay for remote control from the second room.
Otherwise most HDMI spitters seems fine but brands such as CYP, WyreStorm etc are worth sticking with,

I bought one of these a couple of years ago :

Splits the feed from my surround amp to my TV and a projector. The projector run is pretty long because the cable goes up into the ceiling, across the room and down to the projector.
Works perfectly.

I have NEET branded splitter and senders from ebay. Sender unit uses Cat6 cable over a 12m run. All been up and running for about 3-4 years without issues.
Also - worth looking at the Sky+ app for iPhone/Android as it does away with the need for the magic eye. (Only downside with the app I have found is that you can't use it to kick off iPlayer progs.. everything else works fine)

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Can the Sky+ app be used to control 2 sky boxes? Also - worth looking at the Sky+ app for iPhone/Android as it does away with the need for the magic eye. I bought one of these earlier this year, no problems 4 way spliter. It's a powered one which you may need for longer HDMI runs, mine handles a 20m run fine. Go for a 4 way if you can, you never when you might need an extra outlet;). I also linked to one of these in another post IR over HDMI it allows you to send infra red sky commands down your HDMI cable, allowing you to do away with your magic eye. I don't work for Cablesson BTW.
Has anyone used a Neet splitter with an AV amp at the far end? I currently have all my AV gear in a rack under my stairs and a HDMI splitter to go off to my main TV/projector then a second TV in another room, which has it's own AV receiver.
I found that the splitter I'm currently using doesn't seem to pass the HD sound tracks and forces my BluRay player to output in PCM so I only get stereo/ProLogic sound in the second room. If one of these Neet types will pass DTS MA/Dolby HD then it would be worth me swapping out for one.

It can, but you'd need to manually switch between the two boxes depending on which one you wanted to control. Or if you've got more than one phone/tablet available, set one up per box.
Excellent news. Thanks for the info. We have a few IPhones and IPads so it should be an issue. Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
