Now £338.

It did say that the £299 offer was ending on 31st. Still £60 cheaper than anyone else and still better than anything else out there at even twice the price.
It's also an imported euro spec model.

As an aside, is 4K worth it for a TV this "small"?

Bought a 50" Samsung and there is no way I want a TV that big. People

Noticed that Samsung have brought out a few new 40" 4k models that look promising, but is it throwing money away at a technology in its infancy that isn't strictly needed? I'm pretty sure that when HD came out, people said you would need a massive TV to appreciate it, but now a non HD tv would be a stupid thing - even if tiny. Is 4K the same? In a year will people be laughing at me for not buying a 4K tv, bearing in mind I will probably be keeping it 3-4 years?

I went into talk to one of the LG guys who basically pointed me towards a high end HD, rather than low end 4K, saying that you will get more for your money and you aren't really missing out...

everything I have read and advice from Richer / JL sayd avoid 4K for now, and that was on a 55" TV - complete waste on a small TV IMHO

It has Freeview on it, friend bought one from them. The EU version doesn't have the Freeview guide just a basic now/next banner.

I just bought a Panasonic TX-42AS650B which I'm pleased with although it was replacing an old 26" LG so I'd be disappointed if it wasn't significantly better.

I'd originally nipped in to buy an LG TV as we'd been pleased with them previously plus the WebOS appealed but the chap in the shop said before I buy have a watch of the same clip back to back with the LG and the Panasonic. There was no contest, the Panny was well worth the extra £50 at £400 vs £350 for the LG.

What I'm really pleased with as well is the ease of use, particularly accessing my NAS etc which is so much quicker than my (admittedly very old) Media Streamer. Even the sound is okay.

The only negative points are the magic remote voice activation just doesn't work at all whenever I have tried to use it. It seems to be able to understand what I'm saying i.e Netflix but doesn't do anything. Also, I am not sure if I'm being a bit dumb but I am not sure how i get the 3D to work. I have googled passive 3D samples on you tube etc but the pictures are side by side and as the glasses are passive, nothing happens. The only thing that does work is the 2D to 3D conversion but I'd actually like to try genuine 3D out. Any ideas anyone?

How does that work?

I have a NAS with all my music on, which I uodate using iTunes and then play via Sonos. But it would be great to get a visual equivalent of iTunes on the TV and play from TV to Sonos rather than using Sonos controllers on iPads

The TV is DLNA certified and has a built in media player, does your TV? I must admit, they are usually limited for music and nowhere near as flexible as your sonus would be. As an example, our Freesat box only allows one song at a time and you can't even queue different albums or folders. I am not sure how good the TV is for this but I'll have a look and report back.

I think most TVs will do this these days.

Some struggle with certain media files, I know I gave my mate a film the other day and his Panny wouldn't play it, had to convert it to MP4.

Well I checked the music player streaming from my NAS and it is very basic and wouldn't replace either iTunes or sonos as it's one song at a time or folder etc, no queuing functionality unfortunately.

Does it not have Plex built in? My Sony does and I am sure the Panny I had before had it too.

No worries mate, ask if you want me to check anything else.

On a slightly different note, I absolutely love this T. so slick.
