talk to me exactly what you get,,,,,,, got a Sony BR connected to net,,, maybe I am missing something ?
Depends on which model you have. I have a Panny G20 and a Sony S570 - both bought at the same time. The BRP has fully YouTube functionality, can connect to my home network and stream all sorts of media etc.

Basically, all the SMART functionality that a TV has, will also be available with a BR Player. So if you want all the web browsing or other SMART functions of the latest TV's, you can pick up the BR Player for £100+ rather than paying £1000s for the TV.

Also if you have a G20, then you can use Viera Link to control the BRP and so only need one control.

Thanks for that... maybe I need to just up date my BR player as mine is the 550......

Hmmmm lots to think about, but the more reading I do the Android based boxes the more I am thinking there is a long term cost saving on TV packages wink

Yeah, depends what you've already got, what you want how much you want to spend.

Have had one myself since January, very handy for footy and movies and many other things inc browsing the net etc.
Many androids about however I went for the minix as they have a forum with latest firmware etc and if you get stuck plenty info on there.
Mine is via hdmi arc connection to amp, router ia about 25 ft away with 2 walls in between and it streams perfectly.
By the way if you get one make sure you get a remote with the keyboard at the back for it.

You could always spend more and get a full on mini PC, it can fasten to the back of the TV.
