Hi All,

I plan to put in some ceiling speakers for the rears on my surround setup as we don't really have room for wall mount.

However I want to minimize sound leakage into the ceiling space from the speakers. I had already planned to create MDF boxes with sound insulation in for them if needed, but I'm wondering if there are models which are good for ths?

I have Monitor Audio CP series speakers in my kitchen and bathroom connected to Sonos Connect Amps.

They have fully enclosed back boxes built in so minimise sound leakage to adjacent rooms. Seems like a good idea to me to have the back boxed designed and built by the speaker manufacturer rather than doing it yourself. I'm very happy with the performance of mine and happily recommend them to friends.

Brochure here.

Another vote for the Monitor Audio CP series, I have 8 of them across the house in a semi and leakage to the floor above and in general is minimal. If your budget is higher and you want direct rather than diffuse then I can also vouch for the B&W CM in ceilings, much bigger and a few steps up in quality compared to the monitors but about 4 times the price.

Agree with the above, I used Monitor Audio CP used in my install as well. Although not directly into the ceiling I wanted them to have a back box for audio performance in the pelmet.
