This is more related to car audio so thought I'd stick it here rather than letting it die in GG.

Does anyone know if it's possible to add an aftermarket amp to a vehicle where the stock amp is in a MOST (fiber optics) ring loop? Obviously you can't take out the amp as everything will die but can you keep the amp there and somewhat add in a 3rd amp that does the actual amp job and the stock stays as a dummy?

It can be done. The amp can be looped out of the ring, and may need to be coded out too.
Does the head unit have RCA out, or is it MOST only?

If the new amp has speaker level inputs you can keep the original MOST amp and use its output to drive the input on the new amp. You may or may not need to present the MOST Amp with an 8 ohm (a 10 Ohm resistor will do) dummy load or it might shut down or throw an error.
