Unobtrusive...

(Well, the 106" screen is anyway, the speakers are a bit more noticeable but blend into the dark when viewing)

My wife would be ecstatic with how well that setup is hidden. Until I left the screen down 24/7!

Do you have a blind on that Velux window? Would imagine that would let quite a bit of light in, even at night

Velux electric blind, solar powered. You can also see some curtains on the far right that separate this room from the other bit. And if the sun is like it is in the picture there's a large piece of blackout material that I can hook up for the gap below the screen, although the sun is the opposite side of the house later in the day. No other windows to worry about.

Looks nice.

Looking through this thread makes me want to add a centre and surround speakers again. Not cheap when you're in the Meridian eco system.
Need to decide whether to jump ship and get a Yamaha and maybe some of the new Quad S series (very nice sounding by the way) speakers or stick with Meridian.

For my 30th last October my partner sorted and kitted out this whole room for me. It used to be a horrible bedroom at the top of the house which was painted beige, in general it was awful. She redecorated it and bought most of the AV stuff, I mainly assembled stuff and did the DIY including chasing/patching all the wiring and making the gaming shelves. I'm rubbish at DIY and the room isn't finished yet but I love this room biggrin

101" Screen
Optoma 141hdx Projector
Tannoy Speaker/sub package
Yamaha 677 receiver

The building conversion and covered walkway to the house, was a 10k job, (all DIY apart from plastering and AC fitment) then the kit on top!

I'm in the industry though, so think 1/2 price for most things. Second hand but unused recliners and AC from Fujitsu, when I used to sell their plasma screens.. Those were the days!

I now have an ADA power amp to replace my four MA700 mono blocks / surround sound amps and am selling the Donon AVR3808A and REL Stentor, so more upgrades to come.

25k est as it stands now I gues. More than 60k if I'd paid a builder and bought retail kit.

Oh and no games machines allowed!

Not up to Reds set up but here is mine:

AV Items

Elite 100" Screen
Q Acoustics 7000i 5.1 speakers
Epson EH-TW6100 (after ditching a Benq 1070 after 2 days)
Sony Blueray thing that is never used these day
Apple TV
Amazon Fire

Hi Fi Items

Linn Majik 1 Amp
Linn Sneaky DS Streaming
Linn Majik 109 speakers

Lighting

The whole house runs Philips Hue

Very happy with the set up as it is discreet when the screen is up and having the seating side on means we get to put our feet up when watching a film. When the kids have a bunch round we just move the sofas into two rows. Seems to work.
