Well guys I have finally finished upgrading my Home Cinema. I just got hold of a pair of Dali ikon 6 mk2 for the fronts, they do a great job with music and are not to bad with films. The picture on the Panny 65" 4k is stonkingly good. I rounded it off with a Yamaha 677 which in my mind is a great happy medium between films and music, with music being slightly the better. A little picture to give you an idea.

Looks great, I keep meaning to buy a new TV.

42" is small these days by the look of it!

Yes you are right 42" is a mere portable nowa days. If you look on Richer Sounds Panny have 85" screens, mind you at 10k, I will give it a miss

That looks fab - on a related note, I think I need an oak version of your cabinet. :-) Can I ask where you got that?

£10k for a TV that in a few years time will be £500 on eBay is ridiculous! Might look for a 65" this year when I can talk the OH into it.

How does the 677 perform? Are you happy with it? I'm after something to replace my Onkyo 507, and the Yamaha seems pretty good for the money.

I used to run an Onkyo 607 and when I started this upgrade I swapped to Yamaha simply because they are so much sweeter with music, which is more to my taste of late, it was the right decision the Yamaha is so much better than the Onkyo. All in MHO of course.

I have the same amp, great bit of kit but.... Do you have the same problem as me? Do you lose sound when switching between say sky TV to AirPlay for music and then back again, or if you switch the amp on before the TV you'll get picture but no sound?
I'm sometimes finding it a little infuriating.

Yes that happens to me also. If I switch the amp off with the TV remote my mistake I have to switch on and off with the amp remote to get the sound on..

Great set up, think i will buy the same TV stand as I really like it. What's the rear panel made of as i think i will need to cut out some extra holes for all my cat5 cable!

Edit, do you mind linking to it? I can see a couple very similar but not 100% sure its the same.

The back panel is a thin black laminate, it cuts and drills no problems. There are a cut outs at the aback but as i did you will need it make them a bit bigger.

You can get a very similar cabinet from IKEA in the BESTA range for half the price. Buy the cabinet frame and add the doors of your choice smoked glass or wood.
