Ok, for ages I've been arguing there's no difference between 256 AAC and ALAC. Never been really happy with the sound quality of my system, even though the components are pretty good quality. Anyway, I tried ripping a new CD to ALAC and all I can say is WOW , I was wrong. My ProAC speakers have come alive and if I know what it meant I'd start talking about soundscapes etc.

I have now resigned myself to digging out all my old CDs so I can re-rip them. Time has moved on and so has digital music quality. I thought I could get away with upgrading my mp3s using iTunes Match but reality is lossless is the way forward.

Yeah, re-ripped all my CD's into .wav a few years back. I'm just glad I kept them all so that I could.
