Only I'm in the market for a 60" 4k TV at a reasonable price.

Thanks

I've been eyeing up TVs for a few weeks but Black Friday isn't really any cheaper than before on high spec TVs. If you're spending over a grand on a TV Currys have 10% off.

This caught my eye; 60inch 4k Samsung for £900.

I had this discussion with a trading director from a major UK retailer a couple of night ago - I've been waiting to see if there are any deals on JS9000 Samsungs, and I asked him what the score was on high end sets.

Seems the manufacturers control distribution on the higher end sets very tightly... so whilst you can buy a 6xxx series Samsung (for example) pretty much anywhere (and there's plenty of price competition as a result), the supply of 7, 8 and 9 series is tightly controlled and you can only buy them in RS, JLP, Currys and a few smaller high end retailers.

All of these retailers then sell them at exactly the same price - £1,439 in the case of the 48" JS9000.

The Currys 10% off promotion is a bit misleading as they are at £1,599 on that set, and 10% off simply takes the price to the same as RS and JLP.
