I had my Q installed on Sunday. It's very swish! The hotspots from the boxes also means a great Wi-Fi signal throughout the house.

Come on, we need more than this!

Does it live up to expectations? How speedy is it in use? Is it worth the extra money?

It's been absolutely fine, no issues. Speed is fine although I prefer the button remote over the touch remote. I live by myself so I can't say I will get the full benefit but for a large family I can see how it would be great.

Are both remotes Blue Tooth or is the button remote a standard IR version?

I believe the touch remote is Bluetooth but the button remote is IR.

This is correct. If you can't find the touch remote then you can press the Sky Q logo on the box and the remote will beep.

Installed today.

All very intuitive and a great user interface.

Silver box looks great and the mini box is the same size and style as a router.

Had mine installed this morning. No issues, and the guys were in and out in an hour including fitting a new dish.

Absolutely love the interface so far.

Broadband speed is a bit all over the place - when they switched the new router on I immediately got 38mb, but it's dropped back to 28mb now... will see what it settles down to over next few days.

Not so easy to take a picture without disconnecting everything as it's on the top shelf of a wardrobe in the bedroom.

It measures 9" (w) x 6" (d) x 1.5" (h)

That seems pretty mini to me, more or less exactly the size I had imagined, what size did you expect?

I thought it was just more or less a slave to the main box connected via wifi? I think I kind of imagined it would be iPhone sized, bit a bit thicker IYKWIM.

It is but to get it that small you would need to charge a lot more than it costs now and you wouldn't get a full size hdmi or Ethernet port. The power supply is internal as well so you'd need a wall wart if you went with USB power.
