Just don't press it twice, as you'll go back to live, not a huge problem when watching recorded but annoying when you've paused a few mins back on live.

Ok thanks, so powerline requires cabling, not just 'switch it on' !
May as well have stuck with cabled Virgin, at least it worked without regular faffing about!
The in-built powerline has no cables, it sends the network traffic through the power cable via your mains wiring. Couldn't be any neater. yes, extension leads will affect it, but what have you got to lose in trying?
Sorry I didn't get this. I thought power line meant that some external adapters were needed, not much info out there ! Will give it a go

We've got a sky engineer coming today to try and sort the long running issues we've been having with our Q system, fingers crossed it gets sorted

Turns out our hub wasn't connected properly when we had Q installed, looks like they trained the engineers in a hurry

Strange because normally they do as much as possible to avoid a revisit. I take it the wifi mesh wasn't great?

I was at work when the engineer turned up so I'm probably not getting all the info but over the last couple of days since they've been we've had no issues so hopefully all sorted

I've just placed my order... Sky have agreed to honor my existing discounts, so I'm "in"! The Sky guys at my local town centre were really good and spent plenty of time discusing everything and were very open about faults. They advised a software update went out recently which was supposed to resolve a lot of issues and they're currently testing another one at the moment.

That could all be bullst of course, but may as well take the plunge and find out!

I must say mine has been faultless since the first big update. I believe there is another update in testing at the moment.

Our Sky Fibre is being set up tomorrow (apparently).

Then Sky Q TV I think early November (3rd or 7th springs to mind!)

Would Sky Q fix the fact that I'm having to turn my current router off and on at least twice a day to get re-connected ?

Maybe, depends where the actual fault is. Unless it's the router probably not.

We got a new router along with the skyQ box, so maybe.

However my new router is in my opinion, garbage, as the wireless is so flaky in my house now that I had to setup another wifi router to use.

Now that may be the cause of my various sky q problems, because before my wireless was at least stable if not very fast. Now it's either fast, or not working at all.

Is it a sky router?
