No problem with my Broadband, I'm on fibre to the cab ( BT though not Sky )and I am an Openreach broadband engineer. Never seem to have any problems with my multi room HD setup but thought I would just upgrade to the latest Q system.
Simon - any way I can find out why our village's new fibre cabinet took 20 or so orders and is now, apparently, not taking any further orders? It's got load of capacity.
I'm getting the nowhere with my ISP (Plusnet) who just blame Openreach.

I mean home network, Sky Q would operate fine on a 1Mb connection, other than downloading being slow.whoami said:

I've run cat5 to every room in the house so at the moment I'm getting about 70 meg download on both Sky HD boxes as they connected by Ethernet cables. Wireless for iPads etc is about 30 meg. If I get Sky Q then the main box will be connected by Ethernet cable and the 2 mini boxes will be within about 8 metres of the hub. Will be changing to the new BT smart hub tomorrow so from what I've read this should improve the wireless range even further. So are their people on here who are pleased with the Sky Q ?
I've had Q since the first day they allowed non Sky broadband installs and am really happy with it. The first software release was buggy, but it has improved a lot with subsequent releases.
I'm running mine wired not wireless - already had Ethernet cabling in place - but did try wireless for a few days and that worked fine, even though there's a steel lined chimney and cast iron Aga between the main Q box and kitchen Mini.
I'd hate to have to switch back to Sky+HD. I'm so used to having multiple recordings scheduled, plus the latest F1 Race Control where you can choose which 2 cameras to view side by side is brilliant.

Do you still need to Sky Sports packages as a new customer to get Sky Sports F1? I've got the F1 channel due to the lagacy Sky Plus HD package and will be moving soon, so just wondering what my best options are:
- Transfer current package to new address then upgrade to Sky Q (can I keep F1 this way without Sky Sports?)
- Sign up as new address as a new customer, getting a "free" TV, cashback etc.
Thoughts?

Be careful with that. Last year it took me three months of arguing (and I only won because I had a transcript of a web chat) to get back the legacy HD package.- Transfer current package to new address then upgrade to Sky Q (can I keep F1 this way without Sky Sports?)

It was erroneously removed by Sky after they changed my package to get a better price. This was despite me specifically stating that I did not want to lose Sky F1, or the legacy HD package.

My box now won't connect to router- engineer coming in two weeks!!Also noticed some recordings are not working just has a black screen all the way through???
Two weeks with no ability to watch on the two mini boxes is not on- they have said they will refund monthly sub.
Something we've started using a lot is the play next episode feature as you come to the end of the last one, particularly for our daughter with stuff like hey duggee.
The annoying thing about this is that it plays the next episode from the last viewed point rather than from the start, this means I usually have to rewind it a few minutes or go back to the menu which kind of defeats the usefulness of the feature.
This seems counter intuitive because surely if you're following on from having just watched a prior episode you wouldn't usually want to jump party way through the next one?

The black screen is a known bug. Rumours are there's a minor update due this week to fix that problem. Also noticed some recordings are not working just has a black screen all the way through???
