I have a 65" tv - and although it's fantastic, and it IS immersive (and I love it)... - I would say that a projector (if the picture is half decent!) - will definitely be much more immersive! As it's the basement and an occasional thing... - I would definitely go for a project if possible... - check out the second hand market to get more for your money... avforums classifield (same can be said for speakers & amps etc also)

My home cinema is now installed and operational. I am delighted with how it turned out and I am glad I spent a bit more on the audio and went through the additional decorating work required for wiring etc as the Monitor Audio system I got really makes the experience. I also got a professional to do the install, which again was worth every penny!

Any thoughts?

What would people do about fitting? Local guy wants to charge £500 but I am minded to have a go myself given the system is relatively straightforward. Most of the work seems to be in channelling cables which I am not sure justifies the cost.

Glad you got it all sorted out and you are pleased with the result. As someone said further back you only have the upheaval/complexity once and now you can enjoy it for years.

(I just wish my room was finished, but it's a complex installation that I'm doing myself).
