Nice biggrin

On a slightly less ambitious note, I'm waiting for the 34" curved ultrawide monitors to come down to a more reasonable price.

I presume that if you purchased on of these you would have to sit 5 miles from the screen in order to take it all in.

Quite the opposite, you'd have to sit closer than you'd expect to get the extra detail from the resolution. Probably about 6ft in real life.

I currently have the 55" in a room around 5.5m x 5.5m. TV sits on one end and I sit on the other.
Doesnt seem too big too me. I would either get the 55" version of this TV or maybe the 65", worried it might be too big.

I've been admiring this for a while.

Slightly out of budget, though.

You need to be vary careful where you site these curved TV's. Direct sunlight on them is right pain.

There is a difference between thinking it looks not too big and actually being able to resolve the extra resolution.

Don't really get curved TVs, unless you're sitting reasonable close and dead centre, what's the point?

Well your eye can only resolve a certain level of detail at a given distance so it you have a 720 TV v a 1080 TV both at 42in then to see the extra detail in the 1080 TV you'd have to sit at most 8ft away otherwise you won't get the benefit.

This page explains it better than I could although it is not 100% true for everyone.

Curved screen, the new 3D, unless you live in a windmill, lighthouse, etc.

I am most curious as to why people automatically put them in the 3D slot.

The ones I have looked at, the picture has been fine. And we have a corner. Sure if I get my knee in it, it will go a bit further.

Totally disagree with that. Don't get me wrong I am not a huge fan of them, never really done it for me at all and neither did 3D but to place them in the same bracket is a too far.

I think curve is here to stay for the long term - not sure about forever but certainly long term. I have seen technology advances make the curve element have a wider viewing angle and really help this feature.

They are stunning!

Just installed one as part of 5 screens and a media room with full Crestron iPad control for a client! Stunning house and system performance.

Installed a 78" curved last year for another, that was a beast! Took 3 of us to lift it and position it on the wall.

Lovely end result though.

I thought that when we recently bought a 60 inch flat screen. Now I think a curve would make it sit better in the corner of the room. Ours sits at a slight angle so a curve would make it sit further back against the wall.

That said if you have a wall mounted TV then a curve would look odd.

I have the 55" 9000 and it's the best screen I have seen by far. The break out box is brilliant for all your connections. I have a 2TB hard drive connected to a USB3 in that box, and my ripped Bluray movies look brilliant and stunning. the only drawback in it being curved is that it will pick up and reflect the daylight from the lounge window if you are sitting on the opposite side so you end up seeing sod all unless you sit dead in front of the screen or on the side of where the source light is coming from. It is minor and it won't matter if you do not watch it in the day, but with lighter evenings coming.....
