I bought myself a new aviation headset a few weeks ago - a spiffy Bose A20 noise cancelling one with BlueTooth and stuff.

When I bought it, there was a promotion going on where you get a free Bose SoundTouch system; which one you got depends on how many A20 headsets you were buying.

I just bought one headset, so my free gift was the baby of the range, a SoundTouch 10.

It arrived today. I've plugged it in, downloaded the iPad app and allowed it to update the software, told it my wifi network details, and I've tried listening to some internet radio stations. It sounds quite good for such a small device.

So what else can I do with it?

I think I need to download something to run on my PC so that I can access my iTunes library. But I must confess I'm not really sure what this thing is really for. Can someone educate me before I stick it on eBay?

Edited to add: Bose stuff does seem pretty good. I committed my first Act of Aviation yesterday after a lay-off of seven years. The headset was wonderful: clear sound, fantastic noise cancellation, and so lightweight that it feels like you're not wearing it. Slightly miffed that the instructor said my height-keeping was "not up to commercial standard"; er... did I mention that I hadn't flown for seven years?

Yes you need to install the Soundtouch software on your PC and allow it access to your iTunes library. Unfortunately Bose saw fit to remove AirPlay from the Soundtouch family which is a real shame so you have to use their app.
