I have a 2 year old lg 55" led tv at present.
Due to what looks like the deal of the century I can have the above at about 50% of what it is currently retailing for in curry's etc.
My question is this. Is there really going to be much difference?
It looks fab in the shops bit that isn't a real world situation.
Anyone have this TV at home?

I have a 55inch OLED, last year's 950V. If you've seen the OLED and can't really see much difference then save your money and keep what you have, which I'm sure is still a fine TV, however I spent the extra to get the OLED as I think the improvement justifies it. I'd probably go for it if I were you, but others wouldn't.
P.S. I'd argue the difference between OLED/LCD is more pronounced at home in a darker environment where the limitations of LCD are more apparent.

LG OLED 1080P was the best decision I ever made last year as I'm not interested in 4k broadcast as it's still years away from mainstream. Quality of the picture blew me away in store. Only regret I bought a 55" and should have sized up so go large if you can get away with it!
It will be another LG OLED next time
