I've got an Amazon Echo, but looking to add the dots to other rooms, and I want to retain the totally hands free system. Does anyone know of any speakers or soundbars that can wake on receiving a 3.5mm input signal? I've tried in Curry's/Hughes etc, but I've only got blank looks.

Any help appreciated.

I'm running a couple of these little digital SMSL amps:

One runs the ceiling speakers in the kitchen. The other runs a pair of lovely little Q Acoustic bookshelf speakers in the Office.

They stay on all the time. No background hiss. I can't imagine they draw much current. They sound fantastic to me. They won't shake the house down, but they're fine for that kind of application.

Thanks. Any soundbars that may do this?

I connect to a Bose Soundlink via Bluetooth with my dot works great, instant connection and no delays

The Bluetooth must be strong as I can move the speaker all over the house, running on its battery power, yet it remains connected the dot

Do you have to turn it on beforehand though? Takes away from the purpose of a dot if you have to switch the speaker on first?
