Sony TV - anyone use the supplied IR blaster with Sky box?
Discussion
I have my Sky HD box in a cupboard under the TV which I want to operate without the door being open.
On a different thread I have ascertained from the PH massive I need an IR blaster.
I can buy one for a few quid so cost not an issue, and this would then transmit the Sky remote into the cupboard.
But to save time, my new Sony TV (KD-49XD8077 if it makes a difference) comes with its own IR blaster - it goes in the back of the TV and allows you to control a satellite receiver and other boxes through the TV remote. Potentially neater.
So the question is - is the functionality any good, i.e. is it easy to control the Sky functions through the Sony TV remote?
thanks

It doesn't work with Sky HD. When you press "up" (or down or left or right) it sends 3 commands instead of one. It is a known issue and I can't find any sign that Sony are fixing it.
The Amazon app is crap.
You can't set up All4 without an aerial (NOT satellite dish)
The whole user interface is leggy and glitchy.
Guess who wishes they bought a Samsung?
