Evening all,

I'll be needing to have a mic and speaker to make sure a room can hear a number of speeches. Room is about 50-60ft long and not all the speakers are loud.

Anyone have any pointers? i.e hire vs buy etc.

I'm not after the Ferrari of the PA world, the Kia would do! biggrin

Thanks

Bullett

Hire some professionals.

You could hire some kit but unless you know what you are doing it will likely be a mess.

I've been googling further since the OP, wouldn't something like this work?

Surely it comes down to a mic + sufficient speaker? I'm not looking for uncle Daves disco resplendent with lights and lasers wink

Thanks

What's the scenario? Business conference, wedding, other?
What is room made of, lots of glass/carpet, tables and chairs shiney surfaces?
Background noise?
What experience do the speaker have?
Are you thinking they will hold the mic or have on a table?
How people are attending?
Sitting, standing, walking around, powerpoint or other visual aids needed?
Multiple speakers concurrently?
Audience questions?

Something like this which you can plug a mic directly into would be more than enough, amp built in. Just over £100...

Sounds like you are after something really basic.

1 x Bose L1 Compact
1 x Sennheiser EW 135 G3 kit
1 x 2 meter XLR cable

Job done.
