I still have my Tannoy 605 Mk 1 speakers - must be nearly 30 years old, and they still sound great. Originally had an Ion Obelisk 2, but now have a Musical Fidelity X-A2.
Very solid cabinets if I remember correctly.I have a set of JPW Gold Monitors and matching passive sub from 1996, I've had many speakers from Wharfedale Dovedale's, Goodmans Magnums to B&W bookshelves and these are my favourite set of speakers to date, not the flattest frequency response, but the transient response from the sealed boxes and simple cross overs is amazing, sounds so tight. The sub has isobaric drivers in a bandpass design so is very punchy and can handle LFE from movies easily.
My second favourite speakers were the Dovedales, sounds like just one big driver, perfectly integrated, sadly a growing family and they had to be sold to make space for more furniture, I made a small profit on them.
Never been into Vintages amps like I have been with old speakers, but did have a Rotel Receiver (smooth warm sound) and a Technics Class A - amazingly clarity when it worked, had it fixed a few times and it was sold for parts as was costing far more than worth to keep running. Big heavy and hot as the amps run at full power all the time.

The quintessential 80s turntable is the Technics SL1200 mk2
My brother bought two SL1200s recently and a little mixer. He performs "late night sessions" on Facebook Live every couple of weeks. I love these occasions - and I can walk around the house with my Bose headphones on listening to him.Mars said:

The sound is pretty good for a small room.
I have an NAD amp (with a plug-in bluetooth receiver) and another set of Mission bookshelf speakers in the garage. Again, a pretty good setup.

Yeah as it will be a while til mine works so I can just live through others systems
There's a Rotel RB-981 power amp on the lower left. One channel powers the sub in the pic, the other channel powers the BIG sub on the other corner of the room. There's a Cambridge A70 power amp bottom right which powers a couple of pairs B&W 'Solid' corner speakers in the conservatory. There's a Sony TA-212 amp which was the first amp I ever owned.STD305M with SME arm and ShureV15. This combination feeds phono stage in the Audio Analogue Bellini Pre amp and still sounds great. You can't really describe the turntable as analogue; the pre amp feeds a Novafidelity X-12 which converts D to A and then feeds an optical signal to the digital active crossover.
Stack of Rotel power amps for my active speakers. Top RB-971 used in stereo to feed the SB tweeters, a pair of RB-971s used in mono to feed the Audax Aerogel mid units, a RB-981s used in stereo to feed the SEAS 8" upper bass unit and another RB-981 feeds a pair of 12" Celestion Pro bass drivers on the back of each cabinet.
1970s Aiwa 6550 cassette with 1970 Sony TA-212 amp on top.

Whilst part of my system is modern and based around a
Denon AVR-X4500H home cinema receiver, there are several vintage bits attached to it.
Rotel RB976Mk2 bought last year new in the box from a guy in Hawaii for only $220 delivered! It’s a six channel power amplifier that can be bridged so it delivers 150w into each of my three front speakers.
Front three speakers are all from KEF
Mains are Reference Model One/2
Center is a Reference Model 100
My CD player is a classic Yamaha CDX1100, from 1987 when the big Japanese manufacturers where in a proper war it cost $1200 when new and is built like a battleship weight is over 30lbs! And the sound is up there with anything I’ve listened to.
Then my modded Technics SL1200Mk2 fitted with a Rega RB300, Grado Prestige Gold Cartridge, Isonue Isolation feet Mat and Clamp. It a joy to use and as reliable as gravity.

My links never work so just google them. They have repair kits and belts for almost everything.

Can you confirm the deck part number? You said it is a Beogram 1700 but that’s not what’s in your picture and I can’t quite make the part number out. The deck powers on but I've found the toothed belt that controls the fine speed adjustment is toast anyone know where I could get one ?
Regardless, any B&O spares you need can be obtained from a chap called Martin in Denmark here: https://www.beoparts-shop.com/
He knows everything there is to know about B&O and is very helpful.
And I will reply to your email as soon as I can - been a busy day!

Another update the record deck works. It spins the arm moves and now I have an LP sound comes out!
But only out of the tweeter in one speaker
I've also ordered a recap kit for the amp new speaker output switch and power switch for the tape deck as that moved when I bypassed the switch
Do all in all its gone ok but will see how I cope re capping it 70+ items to replace
