Vision HD seems quite solid to me at the moment.
And Octava, although I am having a few source IR control issues with systems bought directly and I am in trying to rescue.
With either of these I would also install a battery back up as the HDCP & EDID Sync'ing has to be learnt into the matrixes in a specific sequence. If the settings are lost in a power failure them the 'learning' has to be done all over again.
Cost for either of these 4x8's range from around £2500 for Octava and £4500 for the Vision HD version (supply only). However the Vision HD one does come with dual HDMI / CAT5 outputs which would make your HDbaseT zone a lot easier to include. Also their receivers can come with EDID fixing. Which doesn't seem to be an option with the Octava.

Right, another update as I have just had a pricelist through with HDBaseT 8x8 and 16x16 matrixes on.
The 16x16 is eye watering, but I was about right on the RRP cost of the 8x8.
I would expect to see them on the market at around the £9k mark with VAT.

Edit to say that does include the receivers

Hi Vex
thanks for all the info. another question for you.
As the restoration is still ongoing, I need to pick up some short term solutions. I have run 4 cat 6 to each each TV point and need a solution to get 2 TV's working for when we move in so I assume some Baluns will be the best option.
What kit would you recommend for a direct link from sky hd box (in media cupboard) to tv that includes IR transmitting over cat6 based on quality and cost?
thanks for your help

Fook! Is it just me that finds the idea of over £1k per slot eye-watering enough for the 8x8?!I would expect to see them on the market at around the £9k mark with VAT.
I _love_ AV gadgets and always have done, but even I can't even attempt to justify that sort of outlay!
