I've always played Oasis - Supersonic first. There's better songs to use but it was the CD I had to hand when I first bought myself a decent system and on it went. I've continued to play it first ever since.
Although today my new Sennheisers arrived and the first song I played on them was Jay-Z - 99 Problems.

Strange, all the Oasis recordings i have heard have been utterly unlistenable n anything approaching decent Hi-Fi.

And even if they were good quality, you'd still have to put up with that incessant whining Some of the worst sounding CDs i own, even the SACD version of 'morning glory' is terrible.

Diamonds are Forever, by Kanye West. Shirley Bassey vocals with some huge base lines....really tested the system.
Actually, pretty close to my choice. But I don't know if a decent digitally enhanced version exists, but I LOVE OHMSS.

P.S. Do not drive to this music, it's dangerous.

Interesting choices here. Would I be right in thinking that an old analogue recording would be far superior than a modern digital studio created sound or is there no real difference.
Infact what bit rate do they use for studio stuff?
Not really to do with the bitrate or analogue.Infact what bit rate do they use for studio stuff?
CD and LP can both sound awesome, just unfortunately almost all CD's mastered in the last 10 years are unlistenable due to clipping and lack of dynamic range.
As mentioned by a few on this thread Brothers in Arms, the original CD not the remaster is a great recording as are most Pink Floyd originals. 25 years later the ability to create a listenable CD it seems has been lost and rarely sound any better than even an MP3.

I think it is six decades for CDs. Vinyl record fans always forget that there is processing to get the tracks not to skip, and then processing to get the sound back. It isn't 'pure'.Funk said:

Tend to use my ears.Loads of info out there, some good Facebook groups discussing too.
A few utilitie out there that can help a bit, Cute Studio ceedeeclip is pretty good but not found anything to extend the dynamic range.
Be nice to correct the bass too and cut it to proper levels, something else they seem to do on modern CDs.
