I'd noticed that as well, I've got monitor audio s8, which aren't the best speakers out there, but are quite good and when I downloaded meatloaf FLAC, I thought it sounded very thin and screechy. I'd never noticed it before when playing in the car, but I've got a pretty crap system in there.

Well I have to say I disagree with that...I love a lot of their music but some of it sounds shocking on a good system. It sounds to me like it's recorded to sound good on cheap systems. But we are all entitled to our own opinions wink
Agreed. I think the same thing.
Hmm. I need to listen to my copies of "The Joshua Tree" and "Achtung Baby" again. I haven't played them since I upgraded.

I shall report back.

Flux Pavillion - Bass Cannon

Cleared the dust out of my speakers no problem, decent transition between beats too.

When I purchased my system I listened to the following tune - absolutely awesome and if you can find a well cut CD it is worth buying. On a decent system it will make the hairs on the back of you neck stand up....changed the way I thought about music.

Hugh Masekela - Stimela (The Coal Train)

+1. I listen on two pairs of cheapo Cakewalk MA-15D monitors - absolutely nothing compared to some of the systems you folks have. But still, that track is just... smokin
