Media centre set up, mac based

Afternoon all.

friend of mine is looking to set up a media centre / nas solution at home.

He has a macbook, ipad, his TV and wants it all to co-exist happily and be able to stream videos through the media centre from a NAS.

Can anyone recommend what he needs to do?

Jailbroken apple tv 1 or 2. Using nas to store media iPad as your controller using the remote hd app.

You can get iTunes supported NAS drives. Never used one, and not sure what exactly they do, but could be worth a look. Might work well with an apple tv.
