I've got an oldish Sony MP3 player, model NW-E005.

Over the weekend I was trying to delete some podcasts on the MP3 playing but there would not delete. No error message, it just hung. I therefore removed the MP3 player and tried again but to no avail. I then tried to load more podcasts onto the MP3 player but came up with a messages that either said that it couldn't be done or that the device was full (which it isn't).

Anybody have anything like this happen before and how did they solve it? I don't mind buying a new MP3 player if this one is broken but I don't want to do this and have the same problem with a new one.

Thanks.

Not a great solution if theres stuff on there you want to keep but you should be able to slot into your computer and format it completly.

Doesn't the NW-E005 use sonicstage to sync, it can be/is a complete nightmare, unfortunately. Try googling for sonicstage problems, it may bring up something.

Or try using an alternative to sonicstage from here:
