went to the gadget show on Thurs last week. tried these on and WOW, the sound was amazing. I was unsure if they had some amazing amp it was connected to so the guy on the stand let me hook them up to my HTC Desire and again sounded soo much better than the headphones I normally use.

Bought mine last summer and I think that they're great. Cracking sound from my ipod, good solid construction of old school materials. Drawbacks? They are certainly alot of money and I do feel a bit of a nonce wearing them on the tube, but overall, well worth it all things considered and certainly preferably to the wife's Bose noise cancelling headphones!
thanks for the reply. well the wife heard me say they cost £80 so i'm not going to say any more. I was talking to the chap at the stand and he said they will be brining out soon 2 pairs of in the earphones which would be much better. I often use them on the fireblade and in my kit car. So small is often better but unsure if they will sound half as good.
Echo the above positive comments. Beautifully built and a nice neutral sound. Be careful when auditioning as I have found them intolerant of highly compressed tracks on my iphone, I guess they simply highlight deficient input. However with low loss recordings then really come into their own. Highly recommended.
Seems to be a real mix of opinions on these. I love mine, but I can understand why.
I listened to them in the Apple Store at least ten times over a period of months and didn't like them at all. Then I listened to a friend's pair and loved them, so it was back down to the Apple Store to buy them on a 30 day 'trial' basis.
There was no chance of me returning them. The strange thing is that there is no 'wow' factor when you first put them on, but they seem to sound better and better over long listening sessions. I have lost count of the number of headphones that sound great straight away, but get really fatiguing after extended listening.
I find them really comfortable and I think they are about the best looking headphone there is. I take the point about feeling a bit of a tool commuting in them, but I live with it for the sound quality. Outside noise insulation is good and the iPhone controls make them ideal for commuting.
The only real problem is that you can get some really good quality open backed headphones for this money, and most commuters will always prefer the IEM type.

Don't forget to look at Grado if you can live with the open-back (noise leaky) design... which obviously doesn't work if you want them for out and about, but if it is for home/office use you may find you like them.
Great phones for the money. I used to have a pair of the Alessandro MS-1s which I think were modded versions of the Grado 80s. Great sound, but everyone in the same room could hear what I was listening to!Tried some P5s at the airport, with one of those "need to buy a gadget" urges.
Didn't think they sounded any better than my Sony in ear 'phones. Possibly signs that I'm going deaf, but even needing to buy a gadget there was no point dropping 236 quid on them (the Sony's were 50-60 quid).
Wanted to try some Bose QC3s on my own source, but they wouldn't let me. So no dice (at 260 or so).
