panna 32 d28 audio autput to arcam amp. phono level too low

the phono output on my new panasonic tx 32 d28 is too low. i run it through the L/R phono (chord crimsom plus) into a arcam solo mini, and i have to have the level on the arcam turned up to 50 for a reasonable usual listening level. even at the arcams max 70 level, its nowhere near as loud as id like. for reference 40 is my usual loud level for music.

its a let down to be honest. as i wanted more theatre.

the pana has an optical digital out. would this output at a higher level? maybe using something like the cyp aud3 dac?

im uncomfy having the arcam set at such high levels. if for say the girlfriend was messing around with the remote and hit the radio button...... the poor speakers

any ideas guys?

Try the optical output (does the Arcam have an optical input for you to try?). You can get a cable from Amazon, no need to spend a fortune. On my Arcam AV9 processor there is a function to increase the gain for individual inputs, but I don't know if this is available on your model.

EDIT: Also check the menu(s) for the TV as it may have a variable output level/fixed option somewhere as my Humax recorder does.

the arcam has neither an optical input or a variable input. i was looking at a cyp dac. its only £30 so maybe worth a punt
