Cockey said: Was the rear also wonkey? Lovely car though Mine had a "wonky" rear too...Red 280i Wedge...I thought I was being clever taking the car to my work in the morning so I didn't have to add about 30 mins driving in the evening, embarrasingly I managed to biff the exhaust on the drop bollard at the car park entrance (I've managed to miss it on the 5 or 6 previous visits to that car park!) but it pulled one of the joints apart and the exhaust dragged on the ground resulting in one of the mounts and the rear vallance being removed from the car. Fortunately the nice people at the RAC came and re-attached my exhaust and rather than risk it falling off on the way down I had the rear vallance in the passenger seat of the car, but "balanced" it on the exhausts once i had arrived, so it wasn't totally obvious, but it still looked silly. Was well worth the drive down and the car will be back to normal soon, thanks for the guys who organised the event. I also might have converted another "punter" to TVR as he wanted to hear my car and I think he was hooked!! Norman

Out of all of the Quay for my Car events so far this year that I've attended, this was easily the most impressive, best attended, and appeared of most interest to members of the public. TVRs seem to capture the imagination and interest of the general public more than any other mainstream sports car brand, except perhaps Ferrari which are on a par I'd think. Cheers for the messages of thanks, but I really did very little, just liaise with Poole Tourism by email. Very glad everyone enjoyed the evening, and I'll contact the tourism team shortly to ask about next year.

Copy of message sent to Poole Tourism just now:
Anne,
Firstly, I want to pass on a huge thank you, to you and your team, from myself and all of the TVR owners who attended the event on Friday evening. There have been many messages of thanks posted on the Pistonheads Forum saying how well organised the event was.
With the great weather, and a super turn-out (88 or so I heard?), I have to say that the whole experience was fabulous, and I certainly heard many members of the public expressing interest in the cars and enjoying the overall experience. Compared to the other evenings I've attended this year, it seemed that the TVRs generate a bit more curiousity! Then I would think that being an owner :-)
Secondly, given how successful the evening was, there is a lot of interest from the owners in making this an annual event. So I was wondering if you can see your way to scheduling a regular TVR night each year in either this same weekend in July, or perhaps during August? I for one, would be happy to drum up support again.
Thanks once again,
Mike

Just like to add my thanks to those who organised and marshalled this great event. Drove down from Bristol, not as far as some travelled I know, but it was great to see so many TVR's all together. Luckily meet up with some other in Harbour Park who knew the way in to the Quay. Thanks for a great night!

Just thought I'd add that Rally for Heroes with the logo'd up TVRs on th roundabout managed to raise over £500! Not bad for two hours collecting, That will be chucked into the pot for H4H and the RBL. Thanks to for jacking the evening up and everyone else for coming down.

Well people, the good news is, Poole Tourism have responded to my thank you email saying that they were very pleased with the turnout and public interest and have agreed to run a TVR night for the next couple of years, reviewing it each year depending on attendance!! They also confirmed that the same weekend is free next year, and that this year's attendance was 89! So let's see if we can smash that, and turn Poole Quay for my Car into a second Chatsworth of the South Coast! Vrmmmm, pop, pop, crack, bang.....vrmmmmmm......

Also down towards the Thistle hotel some could be parked in the middle, I'm sure there's room for a good few more.

They'll just have to build out over the marina and make way for some proper fibreglass vessels.
