I've (somehow) only just seen this! Would love to come, just need to work out the logistics as I'll be driving up from Poole.

Can I just ask, will there be pit stops en route to Brooklands to give other people a chance to meet up with the convoy? I'm going to have to set off at 4ish otherwise to get there for 6am.

Cheers
We are leaving North Norolk at 3.30......lovely time of day for a drive. driving you will miss the best part of the run if you leave it later
4 it is then! Be nice to get the road to myself for once biggrin

Just a quick reminder (although i'll pop it in the email as well). The blackwall tunnel is closed southbound so for those planning how to get to the start point (is it obvious now where it is? wink) then you will need to work an alternative route to get south of the river. Remember we're meeting from 6-6:30 and will be leaving at 6:30 on the dot so you'll have a decent window for arriving at the start point.

On a separate note... i'm going to publicly blame smartypants for jinxing my car good and proper. Not only did I have a close call with a main coolant pipe on Friday... I now have major wiring issues on the "reel" that sits behind the steering wheel as it's got itself caught up and ripped lots of wiring apart........ Aarrgghh!!!!!

Dartford or Rotherhithe are the only other easterly options...

And me too! What time are you planning on getting there? I'm assuming its still the garden centre, as I only live 10 minutes away!
It was 5.00 to 5.15 at the last count. Look forward to seeing you. Lester, that's 9 now.....
10 if you'll have me smile
Can I check it's this garden centre you all mean? http://goo.gl/maps/hRp5T Will the gates be open at that time of the morning or are we just going for the hardstanding out front?
Final question - tunnel under the river or toll via Dartford bridge? Just need to know if I need change on me. Looking forward to this one....

As far as I can see, the Rotherhithe Tunnel is the best alternative. Where do you live Tony? You can join us at Worsted
Lodge if you prefer (services on the A11 southbound about a mile before the A1307 Haverhill junction). At that stop at 4.30 we will become 2 Chimaeras, a Tamora, a Tuscan and a T350 4.3 I think.....plus you if that suits you. If you are coming from Cambridge just leave towards Balsham and turn right onto the A11. Services is a mile or two south of that junction.

it adds about another 5 mins to get to rotherhithe tunnel, but i reckon it adds another 10 mins from the tunnel to our set off point. so i think we should leave no later than 5:00 if we want to be there for 6:00. although if we leave at 5:15 there should be more people to see/hear our convoy arrive.
so, 5:00 or 5:15
Lester

oops, edited to hide set off point

Hi Anthony,
I live in St Neots, so wrong side of Cambridge for the A11 I'm afraid. I'll head straight for the garden center and will aim for a few minutes early giving me time to brim the fuel tank beforehand. Be good to have another 4.3 T350 as well, it's a rare car in it's own right but to have 2 4.3s together will be good smile

Pretty sure that there is no charge for Dartford crossing between 22.00 - 06.00. So if you get there early enough you can go back and do the tunnel for free x amount of times!!!!
Rotherhithe is a PITA as there are now specs cameras at each end with a 20mph average.
So unless you stop yikes it aint going to be fun in there.

That's fine Tony. I think the other one is a 4.3, either it is, or there were two dark red T350s on our run on Sunday. I definitely saw one with 4.3 stickers on the sides at lunch.

as some of us are meeting at harlow at about 5:00 am we will have the choice of dartford crossing or rotherhithe tunnel, i reckon it will take us slightly longer via dartford crossing but maybe more fun, im happy to go either way at any time, has anyone else gor any preferences. or shall we leave it as rotherhithe tunnel.
votes please
