Mr Chips,

I work around Shad Thames so can pop along and check out the tunnel closures by the Shard easily if need be - just let me know.

Cheers

Joe

as some of us are meeting at harlow at about 5:00 am we will have the choice of dartford crossing or rotherhithe tunnel, i reckon it will take us slightly longer via dartford crossing but maybe more fun, im happy to go either way at any time, has anyone else gor any preferences. or shall we leave it as rotherhithe tunnel.
votes please
Lester
I'm unfussed TBH, whichever is easier though worth bearing in mind it'll be the bridge not the tunnel should we go via Dartford so no noise to be made, though I believe the Rotherhithe has 20mph specs which curtail most of our fun (though we could just all go through in 1st gear instead)

Not fussed - will play "follow my leader", but would point out that there is a nice little tunnel/underpass by Wanstead tube station, and a few cuttings on the road between the M11/A12 junction and the Olympic Park (velodrome end) IIRC, so we should be able to get a little practice in before we start the main run biggrin

Rotherhithe for me too kif I am choosing - but I was meaning I will go with the majority. Just because I led a group on the late summer run on Sunday, at Warp Factor 7 where the road conditions permitted, doesn't mean I always want to lead. It was fun though.....smile

I'm not sure if on the actual route, we go through the Barbican. But in particular if we are going along Beech Street ( This takes us underneath the Exhibition Hall and Lauderdale Tower.) Its worth bearing in mind that this time last year it so happened the TVR run was organised at the same time as the Lotus run. The reason I mention this is because at the time I had a Lotus and a lot of us were stopped by the boys in blue for making too much noise and upsetting the residents.

It transpired that in actual fact the police thought the Lotus group was also part of the TVR group. Which it obviously wasn't! It so happened the TVR's had gone along Beech Street before the Lotus's and it was the Lotus's that got collared for the noise the TVR's had previously made!

I only mention this as a word of caution. For it might not be so enjoyable if you get nicked by the b.i.b. for whatever they allege that you may have done!

P.S. I am well aware that one of the reasons for doing this run, is to make some noise! But don't shoot the messenger. I'm just telling you this, because of what happened last year.

If you go on seloc. They are still organising a run. At the moment they are not doing one until November. If indeed they do at all this year.

I'm at the bottom of the M1 so happy to meet.

Thinking of a venue, the final services before Brent Cross might be logical?

Sounds like a plan (and would be an honour) - I quite like the colour of your car! ;-)

What time would that need to be?

yes

Now we're close to confirmed numbers, i'm seeing what we can do in terms of parking, and potential discount on the entry price. Will be good fun to run up test hill at least! This guy had the right idea hehe
