Any recommendations for hotels in the area?
We have previously rented a cottage in the centre of Bakewell for the whole weekend but we're probably only going to stay for Sat night. Any decent places in Bakewell or nearby?

If you want, you can leave your car in the safe car park where everyone meets and get a ride in one of the TVRs, there would be plenty to choose from as most owners would appreciate the company. This would also enable you to take photos or video if you do that, or just go to enjoy the ride. You could also have the pleasure of buying a TVR owner a drink at the half way point wink

That sounds like a good plan. Where does everyone meet up?

If Mike keeps it at the same place, it would be at Chatsworth, but in the Carlton Lees car park (garden centre) but wait and see what Mike's plans are first. If you find me on the day I'll try my best to sort something out for you, it's not usually a problem.

I am pleased to say The TVR Chatsworth Gathering will again be taking place at Chatsworth House.
This year it will be held on Sunday April 28th 2013.

There will again be NO pre-order tickets or booking as it will be a pay on the gate event and you don't have to book anything.

The cost will be as before, £5 per TVR of which they will park in front of the stunning Chatsworth House, now in its full glory (Weather Permitting).

TVRs can arrive from 9.30am onwards (Strictly NO earlier as the gates will be closed) the public (none TVRs) can arrive from 11am and will park in the public car park (100yds past the TVR area)

Non-TVRs will not be allowed in the TVR area. Parking marshals will direct people to their parking places (parking will be by model where possible)

There are to be no trailers, Trade stands or Gazebos other than the TVRCC stand.

Details, videos and photos of previous years can be found by visiting the TVR Chatsworth website at www.chatsworthtvr.co.uk and info on Chatsworth House can be found by visiting their website at http://www.chatsworth.org/

The TVRCC stand will be there for you to buy all your regalia from, or if you wish to join the TVRCC club you may do so here.

Food and drinks will be available on site, or you can bring your own.

There is now a Facebook page you can join called "TVR Chatsworth Gathering" please feel free to join if you have a TVR or not, all are welcome to post.

Hope you all can make it again in 2013, and please feel free to post below if you're coming and why not post your memories of previous years here on or the Facebook page.

Please keep speeds down while in the Chatsworth grounds and BBQs are NOT allowed and dogs are to be kept on leads at ALL times.

This event is organised for TVRs and owners to get together in one place to meet each other and to see a variety of TVRs from all years and not as a trade event. The public will be welcome to walk into the TVR area to see the cars and chat with owners.

There will be a Chatsworth warm up organised by Angus MacDougall on the Friday 26th and Saturday 27th evenings in Cheshire, he is welcoming traders associated with TVRs for his Chatsworth warm up. Please contact him if you are interested in this, he can be contacted via his profile ( argoose ) on PistonHeads, or contact me for his email address.

Anymore info you require, then please PM me or email me, Kev at ro@tvrcc-south-yorks.co.uk DO NOT contact Chatsworth, doing so may put the event at risk (like last year) Chatsworth only contact me if someone phones them to see if it is ok with myself.

All persons and cars attending this event do so at their own risk and the organiser accepts no responsibility for any damage to any cars or persons attending the event. The event is held weather permitting and it is possible it could be cancelled in extreme circumstances. Prices may vary.

I am always amazed at the arrogance of the owners that do this.

would you begrudge Quinny parking his Aston at the far end, that bloke has helped so many people in the past, with maintaining their griffs and chims, `how to do vids` on u tube, the lot.People earn the right to park there for a reason.

We are a car club not an owners club. Different events may well have reasons for certain choices. For this one, it makes sense to have the TVRs all together. I don't see any problem with members with other cars parking at an edge if there's room.

The important thing is this is a major event well-organised and somthing to look forward too rather than bicker about! smile

Begrudge is the wrong word but yes, I would expect Quinny to park his Aston away from the line of TVRs. Just like I would if I brought my Aston to a TVR event... I really don't see the issue, people like to take photos of the massed ranks of Tivs, random cars no matter what they are or who they belong to spoil the effect. And... why on Earth would Quinny, or any other owner have any expectation of doing otherwise? confused p.s. Quinny being your example - not mine. p.p.s. not bickering just answering Clive's question. smile

The one or two 'other marques' that I've seen parked in the TVR area have always been right at the furthest point along the House wall as far as I can remember and have always been owned by well known TVR owners, it's not like there's dozens.

I do agree that you shouldn't be parking right in the middle of the TVRs but away and to the side but the one or two that do get in are at Kevin's discretion. His event his rules and he's entitled to make exceptions if he wants I guess.
