TVRCC Burghley Horse Power - Saturday drives
Discussion
Strange - I posted a comment on here and it has vanished.
What I said was is that there are two runs, one starting at 12.00 around Lincs, one at 14.00 around Rutland. They overlap timewise, which means we cannot do both.
I am not the only person who would like to do both. any idea why they were made to overlap, and if there is any chance of, for example, starting the morning one slightly earlier so that there's time for lunch after it anyway?

Original plan was for both runs to start at 2pm and I don't know why the start time for the Lincs run changed. If you want to see if it can start earlier I suggest you contact the organiser Mike Whiston who is the East Mids RO. Bear in mind it'll take you approx. 20 mins to get from the end of the Lincs route to Duddington What I said was is that there are two runs, one starting at 12.00 around Lincs, one at 14.00 around Rutland. I'd rather not change the timings of the Rutland Rumble - if any earlier it will not give long for people to have lunch plus it might mean people taking part in the Karting in the morning in Corby cannot make it, if later it wouldn't give long for some post run refreshments before people start disappearing to their hotels.

I will contact Mike and see how long his run is planned to be. I do understand that he has to wait long enough for those who are coming from afar but not staying over Friday night, so am not expecting him to change it just for me. If I can even get an advance plan of his run, then I can at least do most of it and I, and any others wanting to do both runs, can make the mad dash to the 2.00 start of the Rutland Rumble.
I live locally, so would love to see the routes taken by both as info for when I cobble my own PH East Midlands runs together. I went on quite a few East Anglia runs organised by Darren (Iluvmercs) from Norwich and throughly enjoyed them, so now i have moved to East Notts I would like to return the favour for the local PHers. I am sure the Market Deeping crew will be there to help me organise a South Lincs run.
And for the TVR fraternity, first thoughts of a Thunder in the Tunnels 11 are rumbling through my consciousness already.

Just opened my March Sprint yesterday. BHP gets a good write up. As do the Saturday drives.
When you read it you will see that there is a morning drive around South Lincs, starting at 12.00 at Colsterworth, which is a service area 18 miles north of Stamford on the A1. It breaks for a leisurely pub lunch about an hour in.
So my plan is to get to Colsterworth for 11.30 with my sarnies in the boot, enjoy the meet, the chat and the first hour, then cut across to the start of the afternoon meet to be there in plenty of time to eat my sarnies, enjoy the meet, the chat and the afternoon drive through Rutlandshire.
Best of both worlds for those of us who own a TVR to drive it.....
PS, I drive up and down that section of the A1 about six times a week on average, so will make it my job to check out the availability of Super-unleaded. There certainly is a Shell garage on the A1 close to Stamford on the northbound side, and i have a feeling that the big Peterborough Extra services at the A605 junction of the A1 is also Shell. I will have a scout around for others and post here

Good plan P'boro Extra is indeed Shell and I think the BP garage 2 miles up the A1 from there sells their variant. When you read it you will see that there is a morning drive around South Lincs, starting at 12.00 at Colsterworth, which is a service area 18 miles north of Stamford on the A1.
