I understand that the details from my email have been shared on Facebook.

As I said in my email this run has been more popular than expected and we will be squeezed for parking space at the pub. Please remember the following points:

1 This is a TVRCC event. You do not need to be a member to attend and 1 or 2 non-TVRs are fine (I know some of you are bringing guests or are having work done on your TVR) but this is not a general car meet/run for a wide variety of makes and models.

2 If you are part of a group and not all of the cars are included in the list please let me know so that I and my "willing" (!!) helpers are aware.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Alternatively JM Kartsport

1070m outdoor circuit, twin 160cc engined karts, also 30 mins from Stamford, enquired about Arrive & Drive on Saturday morning, awaiting reply.
Sorry for the rubbish reply time, I've been away on holiday & for some reason I couldn't post from my phone?!

What's the verdict regards karting? I'm not sure I'd be able to make it early Saturday now, it's my apprentice's 18th & so we're taking him out to ruin him! So I might not be much good to anyone Saturday morning.

JM Kartsport, that's the same as PFI is it not? Great circuit. Depending on what time you were thinking I may be able to make it later?

If not I'm going to organise a karting event soon so I'll be sure to post an invite on here anyway. Last time we went to Teesside karting in Middlesbrough - 96 of us and a 1.2 mile circuit :-)

No need to be a member, you can still join the run but you won't be covered by TVRCC insurance.
Intrigued by this one - what additional cover does being a TVRCC member afford for a participant in an event on the highway, given Road Traffic Act cover for vehicles used there is a legal necessity anyway?

.
This will be your insurance, not all policies cover track days, race or rallies.

I am intrigued. A guy at the last TVRCC track day mated the rear of his car with the armco. If he was a TVRCC member (and he would have had to pay for day membership to be there) does this mean he benefits from the TVRCC insurance? Does he know, i wonder?

Thats how I understand the wording on the membership of a classic car club that I have joined, to cover road rallies, treasure hunts and the like, organised by them, at least it ensures some kind of experienced overseeing of the organisation, and assume the same would apply to being a member of TVRCC. Like all insurance policies it is best to read your individual small print.

If I am negligent in operating my car on the road with the foreseeable consequence that loss or injury is caused to the property or person of a third party, I will be indemnified against the resulting claim by my compulsory insurance; that's what's it's required for. Is it being suggested that the TVRCC has cover in place to indemnify me as a member in teh event my negligence results in loss or injury to my property or person that might not be covered by non-compulsory additional cover I might have in place (due to the exclusions described if they apply)? I have never picked up on that not inconsiderable benefit before, if so. David?

Based on numbers in this topic and others that I know about I think we'll have 50-60 cars on Saturday!

I spoke to the pub earlier and parking plans are in place, 40 of you have already booked for lunch and even the weather
is looking reasonable.

"Let's get..."

Your own insurance covers you under the RTA.

TVRCC cover applies to events (for members) but for 3rd party liability I think. It wouldn't cover things such as track insurance too many variables and expenssive risk. Therefore, in part that's why I limit access for the RAF events to members only (for the cover).

So why did David mention it in the context of a run out on the road, where RTA cover will apply? confused

Anyways, enjoy the rumble; good to see it getting a re-run. Great roads if Longers chooses wisely, which I'm sure he will smile

Yes that's the PFI circuit and it looks amazing! They only have 8-9am arrive and drive, so I'm sure I can count you out...

Based in London so a Teeside karting event probably won't work for me, sorry.

He has chosen well!
