Once again, thanks to Paul and Adam, etc for the hours of endless preparation for this fantastic tunnel run. Brilliant, although a daunting responsibility leading the charge out of the excellent start venue. A few unexpected closures added to the variety. Not sure what happened at Westferry. We were one of only 5 TVRs present. Can only assume the 'eventrrs' had already made a swift exit in the opposite direction.

Terry, great to see you, as always and good to see you in a Chim at last.

Karl, thanks for the plate again and good to meet you at last. I have a couple of pics of your red Chim at Fatboy's. I'll email them over.

Ian, great to meet up and discuss 'those wheels'. I WILL join in with the same look next time.

Peter et al thanks for the words of encouragement much appreciated and I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead . . .

So a brief synopsis of today's adventure from an organisers point of view

I'm glad everyone appears to have had an enjoyable day even with all the detours etc

Dr SatNav appeared to be doing a brisk trade in the carpark early on, it appears that technology is still the achilles heel of the TVR fraternity - I think I'll run a workshop on TomTom & Garmin hacking for beginners - signup list to follow shortly ....

We found our first lost soul coming in the other direction by the end of Limehouse Link - That's impressive but not quite as impressive as mopping up all of you stragglers looping around the banking district like a derivatives trader on black Friday. Sitting at a crossroads watching TVR's come at you from all directions with none of them knowing who is going the right way - yourself included is what makes TITT what it is and I'm glad to have continued the tradition, long may it continue with all who follow ....


The detours were bearable as I actually spotted a workman or two doing something looking like roadworks near all those bl**dy cones!

Now for some of the funny stuff.

The faces of all the tourists etc watching us looney tunes play the TVR version of scalextrix on the the roads some of their faces & comments were priceless!


Q.Can anyone confirm if TVR produced at least one Australian Chimaera

A.I Spotted one at approx 5am bouncing through Dartford Tunnel like skippy on prozac - youtube link to follow!


Q.How many sagaris drivers does it take to get lost on a straight road ?

A.3 and have the video to prove it - good effort chaps only in a TVR


For taking a wrong turn on the Top Gear test track and finding a 2 mile strip of tarmac with nothing on it except 5 TVR's and our official camera car

On a more serious note :-

I've had nothing but good reports for Ross & his team at the diner and will pass on our thanks for his great food & service
hopefully they will have us back again.


I'd like to thank all of the many people who helped make this possible, for speell chocking my notes and making sure I knew left from right as at times it wasn't clear!

For all of the other DR Tunnels (think Dr.Who) who have come before me, your pearls of wisdom set me on the path to tunnel vision and especially my predecessor QBEE who passed the baton with his head held in his hands and his nerves in tatters your sense of humour has kept me almost sane around here.

For the early start and marshalling like real MEN even with your yellow nail polish!

For standing at the steely gates (well it was the East End the pearly ones have long since been purloined!) and getting all of the cars in and parked up without issue.

For putting up with all of my paranoia - but I did build it and they did come - in the wrong direction mostly but come they did nonetheless.

For the endless phone calls/txts/facebook msgs and other things required to secure a great after event.

For help in testing the routes at silly o'clock having to drive through those bl**dy tunnels time & time again just to make sure we had got it right I know it must of been quite a chore but you took it in your stride and didn't complain not even once.

And to all of you who came and made the day possible - I salute you all!!

Guys - what an awesome event you put together - all the planning and preparation 'fantastic' even the invasion of the aliens
disguised as 'traffic cones' didn't stop the fun...

Sitting at traffic lights and seeing a string of TVR's appearing from the opposite direction and having to do a few illegal u-turns was hilarious, especially when the then enlarged group did the same seeing and even bigger convoy....

As always Puddle Dock was the highlight, and with no ' Old Bill' to spoil the fun we could probably have stayed all day, deafness permitting

This was my 21 year old sons 1st real drive of the wedge and is he hooked? You Bet - I let him have it for the rest of day
and it was returned in one piece, minus a full tank of fuel - typically,,,

Any I then finished the day of at the Ballet at the Royal Albert Hall

I know what sort of classical fun I prefer...

Excellent day good fun for both my son Luke and I - thanks Paul & co for all the organising, not an easy task by any stretch.

Yea we managed to get detached from the TITT crowd but made it to Dunsfold eventually.

Got lost several times in the Sag...i just blame the sag i was following!!

Wonderfull memories of being at one of the junctions with TVR's coming from every direction, tourists must have thought we only had TVR's and black cabs in London..

Sadly had to go and check & chat about another TVR so could not make the final meet or Dunsford..

Still collecting/editing the footage as normal life allows - anyone with footage to contribute please contact me.

Once ready it will be made avaialbe online to download although be pre-warned it will be a large download - TiTT10 DVD was 4.2Gb archive from memory!

On the Sat Nav course, I think you need to advise people how to mark points as 'visited' as this is what was cussing a big issei with people trying or double back on missed POI's. (I do know how which is why I think a few people were following me however the old sat nav I use takes 30 seconds or so to recalculate).

Yep, this is the problem. As you visit the way points it strikes them off the list, if you don't it keeps taking you back towards them as so far as the route is concerned you are just driving towards them the quickest route. They need to be marked as 'visited' manually so the nav ignores them and takes you on to the next part of the route. The trick is to know how many way points need to be marked as visited.

I don't know how the itinerary files are put together but is it possible to identify the key parts of the route like the tunnels so people would know what bits need to be marked off if a particular way point is not possible?
