Burley Horsepower 2014

I have to say it's the best TVR Event I have been to for ages, I alwaysd enjoyed Kevin's seasonal opener The Chatsworth Gathering and he had always worked hard to make that a success (plus he could actually enjoy himself without any stress for the first time in ten years!).

This one was (thanks to a splash of April Sunshine as well) was a real eye opener to what we can organise in the Rutland, Leicestershire anmd Lincolnshire border.

Thanks once again to all that organised it worked for free for it to happen. We had a great time and I met alot of customers and TVR's I haven't seen for an age due to our region's focus on the Nottingham/Derbyshire area in recent years.

So I heard over 640 TVR'sd there which really helped.

A Great setting and a good selection of things to do, just wish I'd had the time to do the Rutland Rumble as `Longers' had by all accounts 66 TVR's in comvoy in and around the area, which must have been a hoot.

Roll on next year

I think it worked really well.

It's a good veue, access is easy via the A1 and there is a nice town nearby if people wanted it. The staff at the house were clearly ineterested in us being there and from what I have seen were very helpful.

This event has grown over the years from the excellent work started and continued by Kev and his superb team, that was always going to be exceptionally hard to follow so it was really good to see the event work so well.

Well done to all involved and all who supported it in whatever way, by working towards it or just by turning up clapsmile

Agree and I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was great to catch up with you again James and it was also really nice to actually be able to chat to Kev without him being up to the neck in it! plus by all accounts I think Kev enjoyed it as well.

It was a really nice event and the weather certainly helped too, thanks to all that were involved to make it happen.

Fully agreed. A lovely day, showcasing also a smashing part of the world (although I am biased!). Many thanks to all involved in organising.

Me and the Mrs had a great time and it was amazing to see so many TVRs in one place but we were both spitting feathers we were so thirsty by the end. Even the lake water was looking tempting after a few hours!
Someone selling tea and soft drinks would do a roaring trade?

Great event though !! biggrin

So did I after a half hour queue.....not as refreshing as a proper British cuppa that tastes of polystyrene though. smile

One of the traders mentioned they weren't aware of the TVR event as they were running out of everything by 2PM.

The Hog roast chaps ran out of buns and then hog way way before everyone had been fed smile
On the drinks front the small garden cafe (near the garden of surprises) did decent takewaya tea and coffee all day.
I enjoyed the food fair as well, came away with lots of steamed puddings, cupcakes and sausages lick

Is the plan not to go back to Chatsworth this year, or could Burghley become the new venue?

Was a very good event, some mates moaning about the wait for drinks in the courtyard, but we just walked in the Orangery restaurant and easily got food & drink at very reasonable price. I think the name must have put people off?
