Poole: Quay For My Car
Discussion
It's very unclear how many are coming from the TVRCC as there are many threads running but they certainty don't add up to the 80 figure.
Problem from my region of the WMM seems to be it's a Friday and booking a day off work or simply the length of the trip.
From a mid week meet we had on Tuesday there now could be Three of us heading down from the West Midlands.. Looks like we will be Two Tuscans and my Chim.

Yeah I had a similar one whilst parked outside the Canadian Museum by the Normandy Beaches, was glad I had the roof up (for security) as it saved the interior.
Will try and get along to Poole again this year.
One (I assume) Local resident seems to film most of the events there...including my car in 2012..

Hope there will be some more great footage and pictures Rob! You're a legend!Weather forecasts are looking much more favourable than earlier in the week. I'm sure there will be a good turnout.
Lots of good pubs and restaurants to have a natter and a pint

Wonder if the date had been put in the title of the thread we would have had a bit more interest? Pretty sure a lot of people have missed this.
I'm always one for saying the date/time should be in the "subject" or title....I've been looking at the weather forecasts, and it does seem that while there is a distinct possibility of rain enroute to Poole, there is a high level of confidence that the event itself should be dry.
We have had about 90 cars in previous years, but it doesn't look like we'll manage that this year?
I for one appreciate Rob's efforts wih the videos, keep up the good work.
I'll be there ASAP but not expecting to get there much before 7pm.
Have posted it on the TVRCC forum (new thread) to see if that generates any last minute interest.

Cool I had a reply to my TVRCC thread and it has been listed on at least 3 regions in the TVRCC forums and convoys are being planned (forming up at Rownahms Services initially and then McD's near the Quay at Poole) so hopefully a few more cars attending than this thread suggests.
Listen out for my late arrival....(not the loudest TVR on the planet but somewhere close!)

Hi All,
The weather forecast is reasonable, so we are expecting a good turnout, but never can really tell.
Feedback for this event on our TVRCC forum is always poor, but we have been pleasantly surprised most years.
The event Quay For My Car 'Open Top Night' was a washout, although it started with a good turnout; the sky's opened; end of.
Hope to see you all there.

Hi everyone,
I really enjoyed this evening, slight shame about the weather but it was nice to get a big table together in the pub and have a chat with everyone.
Thanks for being so hospitable, I would have been wondering around on my own otherwise!
Hope to see you at the World's End.

On the plus side I appear to have fixed my roof leak!
And what a lovely lady directing the traffic on the Quay. She apologised for the weather and thanked us for making the effort to put on a display. And there she was on her own in the mirk at dusk waiting for the last car to leave.
Total dedication to the cause. Well done Poole tourism.
The less said about our weather forecasters the better - how wrong could they be?
And traffic? Don't even go there
Hope everyone got home safely. Was that a Porsche 911 broken down at Rownhams or had it gone into the n/s barrier?
Monsoon conditions

Despite the weather the trip from the Midlands to the event was worth it.
From advice given we came down via the A,B roads driving through some lovely scenic English countryside and passing through some lovely towns and nice twisty roads thrown in as a bonus.
After a very good old English breakfast http://www.beckettsfarm.co.uk/ we left at 12.15 and with one fuel stop and a chat we arrived in Poole at 17.00 and waited at Baiter park for the departure of 17.55 getting soaked through.
Robert and John must of covered many miles running up and down the Quay with camera in hand not seeming to bother about the rain one bit
Journey home was heavy rain only stopping 10 mile from the house, but we headed home the more boring route of M27 M3 A34 M40 but much quicker time of 3hrs taking it easy at 55-60 mph.
Don't think I can ever moan again about caravans as me a Cerbera got overtook by one what did surprise me was how many people were still passing us at speeds of 90-100 with heavy rain and standing water covering the roads Fiesta's seem to be driven by people with a death wish and of course the Range Rovers are ok because they're big
Thanks also to the marshals and organizers for standing out in the rain to make this event possible

Apart from the weather, another fantastic meet! Got to chat to a lot of you guys with my 2 best mates while we were enjoying looking at the cars & videoing you guys leaving (vid coming soon). My mates enjoyed it as much as I did.
I think there was between 30-40 in total maybe more. Not bad but as I said, the weather ruined the perfect Friday night out.
Hopefully you guys will be back next year & who knows, I might own one by then!
Didn't take as many pics as I liked but still, they're all surprisingly good.
