TVR Racing - Your thoughts please
Discussion
The 4 rounds with dates are confirmed now (or at least that's what John Reid has told me last Friday!!). As for race timings - that's aBRSCC issue and we rarely find out more that 2 weeks in advance (but this is the same for virtually all club level motorsport I've been involved in over the last 20odd years!).
For those not interested in the racing aspect, that's fine - there are other things to do. As has been said, many people (myself included) are happy to tech talk you through our cars, and many of us make a weekend of it too so there is time over the duration to chat...
On another note - what is it that attracts 100s of TVR's to a field for a day?? I've not attended any (I do put our car on display at local events but that's for business reasons too) so what are us racers missing that we could do to attract you? I appreciate locations can be a thing, but generally (and hopefully) the championship varies circuits each year (barring Oulton which seems to be stuck there). It would be good to know what attracts people to a field/national trust house etc that maybe the racing side can introduce to attract people that way?

As comp sec on the comittee, I've already raised the idea, and we have got support for some of the things i want to do. But to get a main even at a circuit the comittee need to know there is ro and member support for it, as im a loan voice and motorsport biased.
I am aiming to have some time with all of the Ro's at the mtg after the AGM

Difficult one this. At a guess I would say there would be support for it as long as there was "things to do".I am aiming to have some time with all of the Ro's at the mtg after the AGM

Events like Silverstone Classics and Crystal Palace seem to be fairly popular as long there are other things
going on to keep people amused.
For H&B, Middlesex and Bucks, there seems to be mixed interest in it. But might be more sellable if other
events on on the day.
Hey Colin,
Have you been to Crystal Palace events before? That is the sort of thing which
works IMHO and should be the sort of thing that is looked to emulate.

Champagne, canapés and a pension presentation for us Southerners and a party keg and a car tyre hung under a tree for the Northern contingent. That should do it. On a map, Mallory would appear to be pretty much the geographical centre of the known universe if you're not one of those Londoners for whom red indians/vikings/terminator/the SNP/northerners roam the prairies outside the M25 .
EFAAs a Londoner, I am well aware, as I assume everyone else is, that I am personally the 'actual' centre of the known universe.
Well done Graham.
A full race card ( Link ) sometime before the event to give people an idea if they haven't been to any sort of race event before. But as for what should be there, if it proves to be popular then i should imagine the usual people who attend ie Trimmers, TVR specialist etc. would be glad to attend.

May find circuit rules prevent such stalls etc. that's could be the real issue. Would need to sit down with Mallory and explain the benefit to them as a business to get a club event on their empty land etc. A full race card ( Link ) sometime before the event to give people an idea if they haven't been to any sort of race event before. thats one of the reasons for picking mallory, they have new circuit management who are keen to promote the circuit, so easier to deal with than the corporate MSV, BARC and BRSS run most of the other circuits. anglesey and Coombe are independent but we're not going to coombe and Angelsey is a great circuit but people would complain its off the edge of the known earthGraham said:
