Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with great pleasure that I can announce the TVRCC Somerset region will once again be coming back to life. I ran the region a couple of years ago, but unfortunately had to step down due to work and home commitments, this has now changed and I am once again free to run the with club, but this time I'm not coming alone, Paul Knight has offered up his help and we shall both be running the region.

For those that don't know me, I'm currently serving in the Forces and am married with two young kiddies. I run a charity driving event every two years taking 50 cars across Europe and you'll find my car plastered in the livery for it. I've only been in the TVR scene for about 4 years having owned a Tuscan and now a Cerbera. I'm an ex biker and having had a highly tuned ZX10R, I found the TVR was a superb compromise.

As far as the region goes, its massive and it has a diverse range of members. Personally, I love driving the cars, I'm not a concourse polisher or a sandwiches and deckchair club stand fan. I'm well aware that some people like attending shows and displaying their cars on an afternoon and we will endeavour to do this occasionally, but, as Paul and I will be the organising the monthly meets, we will be more biased towards driving the cars. The drives won't be chavtastic boy racer hoons, but they will be interesting, progressive drive outs followed by a spot of lunch at a nice pub along the way, can't say fairer than that!

So please keep an eye out on here as well as the regions FB page and of course its website for news of the new meets and drive outs. If you’re not a club member, please still feel free to join us as were actually quite a normal bunch and very rarely talk about valve clearances etc. wink

We look forward to seeing you all in the coming year.
Many thanks,
Benn & Paul

Benn,

Great news.

Where do you do your run outs from? I like to drive rather than talk and I'm based in Gloucestershire. I do go out with the Bristol TVRCC group who are also drivers rather than talkers but it's always good to have another group if it's nearby (ish).

It used to be the Haselbury Mill in Crewkerne. But we want to include as much of the region as possible, so will look to start from differnt locations each month. We're going to thrash out a forward planner and post up all of the years meets on our FB page and website so everyone is aware. Would love to have you come along and join us.
