I agree - way too late give it's in the Peak District.
Well, that was one in the eye for the naysayers, methinks! After the thin misty cloud cover burned off in the morning, the day turned into a perfect balmy autumnal day, with several degrees of warm celciusness to warm the cockles and gladden the heart. As predicted, the day was enjoyed by all who attended and all the multiple hues of our TVRs were a good match for Mother Nature's fine display.

The count of numbers attending was 276 TVRs, a good base on which to build for ( hopefully ) next year's gathering. You see, it really makes no sense to SORN those beauties and lock them away for the next few months when we are blessed with days like this.

It was a lovely drive home at the end of the day too.... cloud9

Edit: Please note that the lower photo was taken quite late in the day after many had started their homeward journey after a Grand Day Out.....

On the whole I enjoyed the day, it was good to see some old faces and meet some new ones. But 276 TVRs was a poor turn out on previous years and we carnt blame the weather as it was a beautiful day...... I guess the TVRCC really dropped the ball when they cancelling last years Chatsworth gathering and it came back to bite them. But dispite this the marshals did a great job as always and I thank them for that.

Thought the number was ok. Chatsworth had cemented itself as a key annual event and quickly built up a massive attendance. Cancelling it broke the rythmn. Hopefully it will pick up but it's now just another big event rather than THE big event. Also so late in the year is going to reduce attendance. Didn't see much advertising for it or much chat on pistonheads about it. It's post holidays and getting to winter time. Also the club have alienated themselves a little recently imho.
I didn't make it despite living 3 miles from chatsworth.

My first time at TVR Chatsworth and it was really good. Spoke to far more people here than at Burghley House and was much friendlier.
I've given up with the club so open events like this are for me now.

I the previous descussions about this location it was stated that Chatsworth cancelled the original club booking for the start of the year (2014) and gave them a date when other club and Internatinal (F1 Silverstone, Le Mans)events were planned. The club did some last minute rearranging and got Burghley to step in.

As for the two locations I can't see how being in a field by a statley home can give one a big advantage over the other. Burghley had a food market on both times at a pretty good price compared to the food van at Chatsworth with cans at £2.
It probably comes down to access with Chatsworth being more central but Burghley having faster roads into it.

I'm not going to comment on the weather as location can't effect that. I personally enjoyed them both and had 2 great days.

Thing is, now they have done away with the paper disc, you can now tax for individual months which i dont think many owners know,so could make a diffrance next year

Chatsworth on its best TVR day...previous years is an amazing event, especially when all the various models are in rows or groups, they had to bulk up to fill what they could this time

I really enjoyed the day (the Saturday runout would have been good but fuel pump problems stopped that) it was fine all Sunday including a quick 100mile run home back to Teesside
I believe if it had been a week earlier (anytime April to September for those that tax for 6 months) there would have been many more TiVs.

Mine is the S in the front row

It wasn't just bright and sunny weatherwise, I was parked one along from Macdeb and he kept opening the bloody bonnet. There should be a health warning, "Wear a Welding Mask".....cool

I think the Chatsworth event was a huge success, and many thanks must go to the organisers from South Yorks and the High Peak regions.
An end of season event during the 1st weekend of October was never going to get the numbers of the season opener. If this end of season event was at Chatsworth or Burghley I think a turn out of almost 300 was very successful.
Its a shame it was not the last weekend of September before many sorned their cars but something to think about in coming years. Then there is always the debate about parking, should it be in groups of models or just as people arrive. Many like to see the inch perfect parking of the same models together, others prefer the variety of seeing for example a Vixen next to a Sag next to a Griff etc. Some like to stay just with their group of cars and chat about their model, others prefer to be next to someone they possibly don't know and many make new friends this way. Then others prefer to park together as a region flying the flag.
I think someone should come on here and possibly start a vote to help the organisers in the future to decide. But at the end of the day we are just one big TVR family.
The vote could be for,
1. All of the same models grouped together
2. the variety of them all mixed up
3. No preference, just happy to be there.
Great to see Chatsworth back and hopefully back for good.
Kev.

Good points Kev.

I must admit when I first arrived I was a bit peeved to find the cars not parked together as models, like we have traditionally done.
But as I walked down the rows and got to talk to people who were with their cars I appreciated the mix-up as it got me away from the usual and talking about cars as diverse as a Tuscan2, an M and a Tamora. Areas I never usually venture into.

Although my OCD would be massively off the charts, I'm all for mixing them up now - and making life easier for the guys who are helping to get cars parked.

Great event this weekend though. I wouldn't miss Chatsworth whatever time of year it was held.

I liked the cars in model order as in some of the previous years (not all), but I know how tricky this can be to organise, but the parking marshals did a fantastic job of getting cars in model order and without quite a few marshals this would not be feasible.
One advantage of model parking was that we had cars spread out more which in my view looked more impressive which only occurred to me when I was up on the hill on Sunday when taking some photos from a distance, the cars looked quite compact this time.
At the end of the day, all I would like from this event is for all TVRs to be parked together in front of the Chatsworth House however they are parked.
A note must also be made that this is the first time that the regions of South-Yorks and Peak TVRCC have organised this event, and in my opinion did a very good job of it, the stress (if any) didn't show, and everything seemed to go smoothly.
Well done everyone involved.

Another fantastic weekend at Chatsworth, well done to all those involved.
I liked it in previous years when the models were parked together but not sure it would have worked this time with fewer cars turning up, it may have looked too spread out. Hopefully next years event will attract more cars and a return to the models specific parking. Looking forward to it already.

Photos from the Chatsworth meet. Not sure if the music is screwed up or not. Will leave it for
a few hours and then maybe redo the video if necessary.
