Back on a bike!
Discussion
Been lurking in Bike Banter for a while being an ex biker -( boring history coming up) after various field bikes in the late 70s i ventured into a local bike shop in 1981 as a 16 yr old - having just come from the dentist, still not able to talk - with my stepmom who signed fro me to get a brand new X reg Honda MB5 . We never got on back then so maybe there was a method in her madness.
This was quickly followed by a RD80LC, got some photos somewhere. Then a RD250LC with clip ons, full fairing and a single seat. Did the correct thing and sold that to get get the first of 4 RD350LCs.
A couple of the 4

Next bike was a 1980 GSX750 ET. Not fast but wheelied well.
Unfortunately a girlfriend at the time had a Dad who was not impressed by my frequent crashing so ended up in a car.
So a gap from bikes from about '86 to 2003 apart from a ride on a friends new GPz100RX - hmmmm..
Then in 2003 a return to bikes with a ZZR 600 which seemed surprisingly quick for what it was then a ZX7R which i got pissed off with aching wrists and shoulders so that went and that was it until this morning
Im now the owner of a TDM850, getting older so no more sport bikes. I still need to get insurance - any recommendations please and a couple of newer helmets for my son and myself.
Not a great photo or bike i suppose but it will do for the type of riding i'll be doing. Hopefully this hasn't been too boring, or that i haven't posted any of those photos before . Looking forward to some rides out so need to get the insurance sorted .

That's a privilege!
My mate on the right of that photo was something else. When painting everything red on an LC as was the fashion he would remove a part, in particular ular the footrest hangers and dipped them in a tin of red gloss and then wonder why he couldn't ride out with us for about 5 days while they dried. Also wd40'd his front brake disc because they squealed then offered me a go on it without mentioning what he'd done. Although I was quite an expert in crashing I managed to stop without hitting anything.

Got it insured and taxed! Went out and bought helmets for my my son and myself, my old Arai's interior lining wasn't in good shape and it was too old anyway -
The Shark was the only one i could get my glasses on with and my son liked the MT, personally would have liked to have got him something better but it was the one he liked.
What i have found is Im finding the TDM a bit top heavy with soft front suspension that dips noticeably when coming to a stop causing me to wobble a bit . As i said Im a shortarse so its a bit annoying. Bike itself is fine but think i will go back to a ZZR600.
