Just to throw some ideas around. In keeping with the 'tunnels' theme plus a good run and a great place to meet for fun and food there are tunnels on the M25 at Dartford, by the M11 and under the A10, the Hatfield tunnel on the A1 then on to Silverstone, Snetterton or Bedford Autodrome for a meet possibly joining a trackday? Not sure about food at Bedford but Snetterton and Silverstone has good cafes. Maybe Clacket services starting point?
I think Bedford Autodrome are very hot on exhaust noise levels. No hope of any of the cars passing their test!

Quote:-
The noise limits at Bedford Autodrome will remain unchanged at 101dB(A) static (measured
0.5m from the exhaust at a 45’ angle at ¾ maximum revs) and 87.5 dB(A) drive-by at 20
metres.

was/is such a top event, I'd do as many as is possible to organise bounce

for 5... hmmm I was thinking... I wonder if those chaps at Dunsfold would be helpful? A blast through the London tunnels, ending up at the good old Top Gear test track? driving

One other thought, the photos so far have all been fantastic, but it would be great to get a 'professional' photographer involved and have an official photo point for you to show the kids yes

just my 2p

I was going to suggest the A3 hindhead tunnel that is currently being developed, unfortunately it won't be open until 2011 frown

I'll be back later with another rubbish idea biggrin

Southend? Beach, donuts, fish and chips. Plenty of parking too although it will probably cost a couple of quid?

Probably crap but just an idea getmecoat
Nope a very good idea smile

Finishing the run at Southend gets my vote biggrin

Joking aside it does have several good options for parking (should be early enough) & food...

And here's me thinking that cameras only went up in accident blackspots, or to protect roadworkers during roadworks!!banghead

I think finishing by the sea would be great but there are members that come from Manchester etc and asking them to then drive even further south would decrease the take up rather than encourage it.

On google Southend works out an extra 30 minutes from say Whitehall, back via M1, using a more friendly M11 for part of the journey an extra 45 mins & no M1 smile

Not that i'm biased hehe

Quite right, thank you for considering your northern counterparts. There will be calls for the BNG to be further south if left unchecked. wink

What about a circuit of the M25? Late evening or at night, plenty of refreshment areas, maximum exposure of the marque to (stationary) onlookers, loads of joining points and the chance of a good blat getmecoat

How about Anglesey for a weekend, good welsh roads, mountains, not far from Blackpool. Locals are friendly, a bit strange some of them, but friendly. A more exotic route could be ferry to santander/bilbao, and a 2/3 day drive back through france via the pyrenees. Bit of a dream but it would be a hoot smile

Agreed, heading further south is always going to reduce the numbers IMO.
