I must be the only person who hates Chatsworth pasties !
I know Kevin has been talking to them about improvements to catering and refreshments....?
They sometimes have a BBQ in the upper courtyard (where the cafe and shops are), would be good in that was on as well...

What another good start to the Tiv year this should be so well done Kevin yet again - one problem though - the queue for the pasties was very slow last year - any chance of them sorting that out Kevin as no doubt there will be plenty of hungry owners looking for them??
Jim
Thanks for your comments Jim. I have just been talking to Chatsworth and they say they will be doing everything possible to get a pastie van down on the TVR site this year, I will be going to see them a few days before the event to sort out this, fingers crossed it should come off this year.
I am one big vote for their pasties, they are the best.

Sorry!! I was being Tongue in cheek! The authentic recreation using many original parts!!!? Will it be there?!!
Sadly, no chance of it being ready by then. I'm thinking their might be something to put on show at the BNG in September but it won't be any where near finished then either. Engine alone is going to take many months.
I look forward to this!

Kevin, anything being done to try and get people in rather quicker this year? I might have been unlucky but had a nightmare in the queue last year (getting on for an hour), which was no fun after all the road works/lights in and around Chesterfield. Simply can't contemplate a repeat of that on the current engine nono

Cars will be ok to arrive earlier this year to spread the traffic out so cars can enter no earlier than 9.30am and if people could have a £5 note ready then that should speed things up too. Last year was just awsome but getting nearly 700 TVRs in when you was hoping to get only 500 cars caught us out a little, the room is there and we will try our very best to get TVRs in quicker. Chatsworth does not open until latter on but I am allowed to open earlier this year.

Kev just an Idea.
Sure you my well of thought about this but to speed up entry how about splitting cars near to the entrance and sending down to the bottom gate of the field. Use it for certain vehicle types that are going to be parked near to the river. YES would need two people to manage gate, and road down could be to close to the entrance, but if feasable would reduce and split cars making entry quicker. contingancy plan if it gets very busy, not sure if it would work but trying to be constructive.

Ah that's my plan B and some of the cars with more ground clearance should be ok. I may use this option if things get a bit strained but we will see how things pan out.
Things don't seem to be as popular on this events page as they were last year when I posted on the main page, I wonder if post will start picking up nearer the date.

You could walk down the queue selling tickets to cars, that combined with double entry might speed it up?
I live about 2 miles away or so and I guess I will have to queue too even though I can be there v quickly.
The prob with being early is that you miss the chance to drive in when it's crowded which looks fun.

I do walk down the cars selling tickets when things look slow and it does speed things up, I think I will be on the gate most of the day this year but at least I see everyone but then I don't get time to chat which is a bugger.

Surely the obvious resolution to this "problem" would be a couple of Ginsters finest, a previously packed roll of kitchen foil and about ten minutes at tickover?

(Used to work with spuds on the tractor block when I was a kid...)

That's okay as the hotel isn't in Chesterfield itself but on the way to Chatsworth. It's just called Chesterfield West. Thanks for the tip though.

aha that's prob the newish one. I live not far from there. It is nearer baslow than Chesterfield. Only prob is there is nothing near to it. so you can't walk anywhere to buy a paper or to go for a meal etc except for the beefeater to which it is attached. Very close to chatsworth though!
