I`m leaving from Bedford at 7.30 and joining the M1 at Northampton
Plan to be at chatsworth at 10.30 ish for the run out

I could stop at Northampton services 15a or Leicester Forest East Services Between 21 and 22

I`m going up with my girlfriend and we are staying in Buxton

It happened when decelerating to come off the dual carriage way.......it ain't smooth running, feels a bit like misfiring but I checked plugs n swapped leads. Power is still there, and it sounds rough (rattly)......I'm thinking either crank bearing ....... or would a manifold gasket cause such problem ???
... so off to Austec tomorrow to see what I've done.

Sorry to hear that Steve - you said all didn't seem right afterwards. But as someone who was right on your tail for that bit, nothing looked or sounded odd, no bangs no sounds of missing - just seemed to pull like a train. Is it missing?

Not sure which day I'm going but will have a spare seat if you're up for it.

Nick..... That's a very kind offer, but I will decline it as I get my kicks from driving...... so being a passenger n tyre kicking aint going to float my boat I'm afraid....... Again a really kind/nice offer which I'm touched by.

If it was a crank bearing you could expect a loss in oil pressure. Could well be a manifold gasket or a crack in the exhaust somewhere; lets hope so, cos that's easy to fix. Alternativley could be a hydraulic tappet but that wouldn't happen suddenly. I think most likely exhaust or ignition related.

Fair enough and no problem as I expected you to decline...... because I would have done too - for EXACTLY the same reason!!!

Hope you get it sorted soon. If it IS the same as you say you had once or twice before then it cleared, it can't be as serious as you maybe think. Bearings don't self-heal!! I'd be happy to come up to yours and have a listen next week if you wanted. I'm only just down the A1.
