I reckon it's a perfect TVR trackday circuit. Roadcars can feel a little lost at places like Donington, places like Rockingham & Silverstone are a bit one dimensional, & many of the other UK circuits can become expensive!

If you enjoy giving your TVR some beans, i don't reckon there's anywhere better thumbup

Does that mean your going to attend then!. I think it is pretty sad that one month before the event there are still 20 places to fill and the likes of Chatsworth which in the scheme of things is just turn up put a deck chair up behind your car and sit there and have a look at another TVR which you have seen thousands of times before gets 600 odd turn up. What on earth is going on with the TVR owners. TVR's are not that precious or that brittle so come on sign up or the TVR track days will be no more...

Most circuits are 3-5 hours away for me, but good ones like this are well worth the trip smile

I will be there, so long as it's not raining ( sorry, nuts like sun-dried walnuts ).

Do agree with you though, it's always surprised me the number of TVR owners who do not track their cars, surely they're not really giving it tenth tenths on the road eek

There was a clue in the old strapline, "TVR, the spirit of driving" biggrin

Come on, book your place now.

Think of it as a day to hone your drivings skills.

Go at your own pace that you are comfortable with and safely explore what you and the car can do quickening the pace throughout the day.

You WILL be amazed what you have achievied and feel so more confident on the road.

It took me 3 years to get around to having a go, and within just the day I soon realised how much I did not know, basic things, postioning in the road, braking points etc etc.

The cost of £160 for the day is it, as long as your car is in good order, a few fluids, brakes, tyre and pressure checks is all you will need.

Tales of tyres being shot in a day are untrue, just take advice on the right tyre pressure and you will have a bargain performance driving day.

If like me you like to 'park up & polish' too, don't worry as there are no potholes, broken grids or grit or salt.
You get more stone chips driving to the circuit than on it!

So get it booked, and you will not regret!

Dads just booked our places.

We weren't going to go at first, as its our first trackday, and were advised that cadwell probably wasn't the best one for a first time.

But as pretty much every other track is a bit too far away, he's been persuaded to do cadwell.

Are helmets available to hire?

We haven't got them yet, and I think my dad would rather rent one out for the day than spend almost £100 on one when it probably won't get much use again, biggrin. I know mine will get alot of use, biggrin

We'll be in the red 1600M, probably going round the slowest so please give us a wide berth, biggrin

Cadwell was my first track day, great fun and as long as you listen to the tips from the instructors you will be ok. Not sure about helment hire, you should give them a ring on site.

Have you booked intermediate 'and' advanced also then?

I was thinking of booking a slot in both as the numbers are down & give me more track time

No Graham I booked a chap in with an E500 AMG but what you suggest is not such a bad idea!. I knew TVR owners were lightweights against the likes of Lotus owners when it comes to driving there cars but this is pathetic.

There are only two groups, novice and others. It just happens that as the day progresses you find that one group is faster than the other. Also given lower numbers it is more likely to end up up open pit lane sooner. Could be an expensive day if you pay twice though the donation will be appreciated.

I SPOKE TO THE OFFICE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON
AT PRESENT WE ARE STANDING AT 51 ENTRANTS
SO IF YOU WANT TO BE PART OF THE ACTION, BOOK IT NOW.

WE NEED TO 'FILL IT' & BREAK EVEN,
OTHERWISE THE TVRCC IS GOING TO BECOME A GROUP OF 'POLISHERS'!!
NOT LONG AGO I USED TO ATTEND 'TVRCC TRACKDAYS' AT MANY CIRCUITS SUCH AS OULTON, DONNINGTON, BRANDS, GOODWOOD & OTHERS.
WE ARE DOWN TO CADWELL NOW, LET's MAKE SURE WE KEEP IT

REGARDING THE QUESTIONS REGARDING THE 3 GROUPS.
AT SIGNING ON WHEN BERNIE & I 'GROUP PEOPLE'
TRACK DAY VIRGINS ALWAYS GO IN THE 3rd GROUP (usually green) AFTER THE MAIN BRIEFING ALL THIS GROUP STOP BACK FOR A 2ND MORE DETAILED BRIEFING, AND A CHANCE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. WE ENCOURAGE USE OF OUR EXCELLANT 'FREE' INSTRUCTORS,

THE 1st GROUP IS FOR EXPERIENCED CADWELL REGULARS (some 20 years & more)

THE 2nd GROUP TENDS TO BE FOR EVERYONE ELSE

THIS SYSTEM SEEMS TO WORK VERY WELL.

THE INSTRUCTORS ARE OF COURSE AVAILABLE TO ALL GROUPS, THE QUICK GUYS LEARN A THING OR 2 AS WELL

SEE YOU THERE - IAN B.

Are there any rules on cameras?

As in, video cameras inside the car?

I've got one of those little 'ebay key chain spy cameras' from the thread in the Track Day forum that I velcro to the dash of the car. Will that be alright? Thought I read somewhere that they frown upon cameras or something???

I think they have to be securely fixed, not even "suckers" were allowed last time i was there!
