Mid Essex Spring meet, this Sunday 11th April 2010
Discussion
This coming Sunday is the second Sunday of the month which means another Mid Essex meet and another Mid Essex convoy from the White Hart...
Most will know the drill by now, but for those that don't we'll be meeting at the White Hart as usual from about 11:00 for the main convoy leaving at 12:00, and if you're joining the Southend pose pre meet, at the bays on Thorpe Bay front by the yacht park (between Maplin Way Thorpe Hall Avenue) and between for 10.15 to 10.30 leaving at 10.45 (or thereabouts).
How do I get to the White Hart..?
1) Take the A12 towards Colchester,
2) Turn off at J19 (Boreham) – keep in the left-hand lane,
3) Take the 2nd exit,
4) Follow the road, it turns to a 40mph,
The White Hart is on your left a few hundred yards further on.
If you get to the roundabout, you have gone too far..!
Or just look up the address at http://www.multimap.com - White Hart, Colchester Rd, Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 5PG
If any of the Southend boys fancy a Pre - pre meet, Marios 9:15am, for a bit of Brekkie???
I will be leading the convoy from Thorpe bay to the white hart, then Neil Whyman will be taking over
From there.
Any questions please PM me,
Regards,
Steve
FBC
Ps: Spring is finally here!!! Good turn out last month, but lets make it a better one this month, No F1, No mothers day, just a day out with the mistress while the sun is shining, C'Mon boys and girls!!!!!

Can you arrange that for July with your fellow owners?
They are more than welcome and it would be good to see them all again.
I can take 10 guest cars.........???
If you could get back to me I'll get it in the Mid Essex Website Events list to give it some good airtime.

Will it be back on the road by then ?
Pah! I hope most of the weaknesses have shown up by now. There are not many Audi engine conversions out there and some teething problems are to be expected!. It's been on several trackdays and out for a few road blasts, so hoping to get it fully sorted for an Alps trip. Would take the TVR, but really dont think i will be able to keep up in that! As good as my chim is, bless it, the pounding on the brakes and the lack of lotus like agility and rear grip will be a problem..yellow peril said:

will be one extra tvr tomorrow my mate from loughton is as i type in swindon picking up his tvr if he makes it back tonight he will me us at bp also
Great stuff...look forward to seeing you both Jon, Hi,
When we have a 'guest' group there is always a bigger number of TVRs turn out.
With 10 'guest' cars I assume 20 extra for dinner = 2 tables taken upstairs.
I always have to ensure there are enough seats for everyone.....
10 is a safe number.
I could go to 15....but again...that woould be another table taking 2 per car.
Let's see what response you get and we can go from there...
It would be good to have a nice big meet...haven't had a large meet for ages.

Oooooohhh, you ARE awful... but I like you!!! YP
Speaking of meat, don't know what the present carvery arrangements are but assume there's no more of that pre-registering numbers needed!!! See you all later... Nick.
D'you know, I can't win....
I was going to puit, I haven't had a big one for ages...but I just KNEW that would get a comment, so I deleted it and typed big meet.....
I'M not the awful one...it's your minds.......
No Nick I didn't call for numbers this month, but Rupert did phone me and ask for numbers.
I can only guess..........
So if you want a carvery, get in there quick and get a ticket!!
If I get it totally wrong today, and if the weather is as nice in Chelmsford as it is in Holland then I may well ......I am seriously going to have to consider what we do in the future.
Looking forward to catching up for a natter..haven't seen you in ages.

Really good to see soooo many TVRs out to play.
Thanks to Steve and Neil for the runs.
Sure sign that the warmer weather is now with us.
Good to see the drive lined with TVRs all the way up to the road end of the drive.
What happened to all the Griffs....
Outnumbered by Chims......
Can't wait for the Chimaera Meet then...should be in June cos the lambos are coming out to play next month.
Hi to all the new members, you certainly kept me busy yesterday.
Hope you enjoyed the meet and that you will pop back again.
Please keep an eye out for newsletters and updates on events.

GREAT meet yesterday Pauline - wonderful weather and a big turnout. What could be better!
You know, I've been thinking about this food thing and if I were doing it I'd just say each time he asks, "about 35" as it seems you did yesterday. Because WHATEVER you say, they seem to cook about the same amount of food!! It's all too silly anyway and not fair on you. What they don't seem to realise is that all the meat they have left over goes for sandwhiches and salads throughout the following week downstairs. Simples!!
Anyway, not really a topic for here I suppose. But always happy to have a yack about this should there be 'developments'!!
Nick.
Thanks Nick, but I think Rupert saw what went on yesterday and understood the problem a little better.
However, you have it right in your mail...if people are not eating because they think they should have booked, then the Forresters are doing themselves a disservice.
Also, apparently some people went downstairs yeasterday to have burger and chips....so that too needs thinking about.
I think you're right of course.....I will only ask for numbers on a special occasion and I will make that plain in my next newsletter.
They did sell 30 carveries yesterday...I told them 35...so not a bad guess, but I do confess to having a bit of a panic moment when I say 40+ TVRs turning out + our Loti friends.
Anyway......change of subject.
Paul Wiles bought along a photographer friend yesterday, Richard Cope, who has taken some shots of a few of the TVRs.
He liked the Sags
