thing about liv tyler is she's got a distinctive, character face while still being stunning.

marisa tomei has a tiny chin. you'd struggle to balance ONE ball on that.
you leave Marisa Tomei alone. she's perfect, you hear me? PERFECT
she's a tiny chinned alien faced FREAK. liv tyler would EASILY beat her in a figh.....

I thought he was one of the better ones. The worst by far was Sean 'yes, the full Monty was funny, and Game of Thrones is good, but don't mention Ronin' Bean. Liv Tyler annoyed the nipples off me, and the one with the wonky mouth who went to Lost was worthy of a poke in the eye, but apart from that, I thought the rest were well suited. I was surprised when Aasti'n, (I tried to make it more LOTR'ish), was cast, but he's a decent actor I though, and did Samwise very well. Frodo, on the other hand, whiney little st... He should have been someone else. He was pantaloons.
Sean Bean wasn't in The Full Monty? I think it was Robert Carlisle. (Pedant moment over).

However, I agree to a certain extent vis a vis Sean Bean. If one mearly watched the theatrical version, one would be hard pushed to think of a reason as to why he was in it at all. But I think in the full versions (especially in The Two Towers) he was worth his wage packet. (IMHO obviously).

Looking forward to The Hobbit very much. yes

Ah, that would be 'When Saturday Comes'. And yep, not the best I agree.

I'm not a contestant on Mastermind with a specialist subject of the movies of Sean Bean 1984 to present honestly. Just happens he is a close friend of a close friend.

Hey, I don't not like him... I thought Sharpe was great, and have the silly box set with knife thing and the big bd map, and Patriot games was awesome, as was the uber awesome Equilibrium. I just think Bean has roles he can play, and roles he cannot. Sometimes he does a good job, and sometimes he does not. He was awesome in GoT, but utter pantaloons in Romin... Very tipsy turvy actor fellow.

-pushes Tom-doesn't-bounce-much out of the tree.

see, i didn't like equilibrium. thought it was a terrible idea badly executed from start to end. i remember them casting LOTR and hoping he'd be aragorn, i bet he read for it.

he came across well in GOT in all his scenes with mark addy too. they had the proper "old mates" thing down very authentically.

Related side note... Andy Cirkus played the part of Ceasar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Wasn't as good though. Gollum had a character, and you could tell it was him. Not like that at all in RotPotA. Still a good film, but a bit disappointed that the character didn't come out a bit more as him.

i think that given a couple more years there may be a category for best digital character introduced into the oscars. sort of an award for a group of people including the mocap/perfcap actor. at some point in his life serkis will take an oscar for something, i'm sure of it.

On another related side note......although I am quite embarrassed to say. It wasn't until I had seen LOTR for about the forth or fifth time that I realised that Lord Elrond was Agent Smith in The Matrix. Durrrr! sleep

there are some lines that he delivers in a very matrix style in fellowship. have to admit it cracks me up a bit.

Really?

When I first saw it at the cinema, and he said "Welcome to Rivendell...", I expected him to follow it with "Mr Anderson"!
