Narcissus was the lifeboat that Ripley escaped from the Nostromo in. When you say "more than a military vessel" do you mean the Sulaco?
Brain fade - sorry, yes you are correct

The Sulaco, which was quite prophetic, since it resembled a mobile phone battery.

A second viewing for me didn't help make the film any better. All the flaws were still there.

Allow me:

"Quick, run / drive to the alien structure!"

"Aarghh! Scary things! Quick! Run / drive back to the ship!"

"Oh no! We forgot to do that thing! Quick, run / drive to the alien structure!"

"Aarghh! Scary things again. Honestly we'd forget our heads if they wern't screwed on silly Quick run / drive back to the ship!"

"Hey, we forgot to do the other thing. How hopeless are we? Quick, run / drive to the alien structure!"

And repeat until you run out of dry ice.

Prometheus 2 Now Confirmed

http://io9.com/5931023/prometheus-2-is-moving-forw...

In a nutshell, the Hollywood Reporter publication says:

Fox confirms to THR that Scott and the studio actively are pushing ahead with a follow-up (stars Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are signed) and are talking to new writers because Prometheus co-scribe Damon Lindelof might not be available. "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can't rush it," says Fox president of production Emma Watts, who also has overseen the successful reboots of the X-Men and Planet of the Apes franchises. A Prometheus sequel would be released in 2014 or 2015.

funny also that the only 2 surviving characters are signed for the sequel too wink

i'm going to leave this one when it comes out until a fair few people have seen it to garner whether or not its a cinema or dvd watch. something i wasnt afforded on Prometheus as it was a case of seeing it opening day or not at all.

I know it's the done thing, but it always disappoints me slightly when they write these things as they go. The story arcs could be so much better if they put a bit more thought into the longevity of these franchises.
